I have read through this thread and pretty much agree with everything others have said especially Angela.

The thing we have to remember when talking to these people is what type of background were they raised in, and we are told and shown from the bible we are to still show love and try and help these people by God's word.

Some have been brought up by the standards they were raised in to use how they speak as a defense against facing their own issues. Also bad teaching is running a a all time high in the Church to where people are shown an improper way on how to rebuke and reprove others.

They use examples such as Jesus calling the Pharisees hypocrites and vipers to defend their right to call others any name they see fit to do, but you can tell the truth behind their motives by the words they use and if they do not follow it up with biblical understanding. Plus if they use condemning words then they are not of God for the bible clearly says we are not to go around condemning others.

Fruits of the Holy Spirit will be evident in all born again believers, and those fruits show in our actions, speech, and treatment of others.

I have seen that some "Christians"hurt others, especially on social- networking sites. Why do they do that? If they had love of GOD in them will they mistreat the other parts of Christ? I mean lies, slander, abuse, anger, quarrel, etc makes me think that they are of satan. Some of them act worse than the unsaved.

What does the Bible say about this? I am not talking about works here but about the fruits.
Pride...... fear......insecurity.

[SUP]10[/SUP] Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.

[SUP]10[/SUP] In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother.

[SUP]1[/SUP] Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.
[SUP]2[/SUP] And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.
[SUP]3[/SUP] And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing.

[SUP]14[/SUP] Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord.

The truth is we are to love people no matter how they act towards us,and there is no excuse other wise.If we are verbally assaulted we do not verbally assault back.If we physically assaulted we do not physically assault back.

The Bible says resist evil, which would be spiritually, and resist not evil, which would physically.

Someone needs to read Matt. 23. Jesus nailed the self righteous and haughty right to the wall!

Jesus was brought as a Lamb before the slaughter. He opened not His mouth. this is because He had to go to the cross.

The word tells us that we must head off error and lies by exhortation, correction, and open rebuke, if need be.
To sit silent while wolves devour the flock is not found in the word.
read: Titus 1:13

In my experience, most people prefer their own way of doing things. Lots of us learn to adjust to others out of respect and love. Some people, however, experience a lot of frustration when their ideas are questioned or their wills are thwarted.

Usually, in forums such as these, it involves someone presenting a particular view of scripture (more often than not, a non-essential). Because their is a great breadth in Christendom, and because we have freedom in non-essentials, invariably, someone will contradict the view of that person. Instead of an attitude of curiosity (That's interesting...why do you take that view of scripture), people dig into their own way and pull out the doctrine sticks to deliver an appropriate beating.

Some people are very threatened and fearful of opposing viewpoints. And, they may have good reason for it based on their personal experiences. We all have our particular weaknesses. Additionally, we all have spiritual areas where we are particularly zealous, and may easily presume that everyone must be equally zealous in those areas.

It takes time and a true submission to the work of the Holy Spirit to allow these "rough edges" to be softened. In my experience, it *always* happens in the context of relationship with others. It in through connecting with others that God reveals to us our sharp sides and calls us to more gracious behavior.

Personally, I'm a big believer in prayer. Most of the time people aren't argued into any kind of agreement, but loved into it with patience, kindness, and prayer.
