God did not create gay people any more than he created fornicators or adulterers. It is we who chose how we want to have sex and who we want to have sex with. Not God.
So you chose to be straight, then?

It's simple:

If sexuality is a choice, then we all have that choice. You can either choose to be gay, straight, lesbian, or bisexual.

I didn't choose to be straight, so how does that argument hold any water?

Sexuality isn't a choice. Stop being so narrow-minded.

Hi Nickkk

As I read your writings, I can't get a beat on what your real question is. What I have to share is not from the Bible, but from God. I am in the prison ministry and one time I was going to see the inmate I had become aquinted with. As usual I was driving and praying for direction, I always pray so I can help them with what ever they are struggling with. As I was asking the Holy Spirit told me to speak with her about homosexuality. I told the Lord I could not speak with her on this subject because I really didn't know anything about it. Once again without changing a word He repeated what was to be spoken about. I pulled the car over because I was so upset, I did not want to speak about this because I myself was confused about what to say. I finally stopped arguing with God and said OK. That's when He started giving me what to say. Alot of people out here have sin in their lives. There is all kinds of sexual immorality. Do you not agree that adultery is a sin? Let me share with you what He told me. Men are more comfortable with their own sex as are woman. Because of this they seem to be more drawn to the same sex. Satan did make the best out of this by taking it into the physical. I feel for anyone who is having issues with sin, it's hard to understand something you really would prefer to not see. Especially when Satan is doing his best to make us blind to the Word of God. If you really want to know the truth, go before God with a sincere heart and He will answer you, but I am going to tell you what you already know, it is a sin. On another subject if you are going to read the Bible to really get answers you might want to do a study. Alot of the old testament was given for common sense directions. They were told how to prepare the food because they had no refridgeration. Common stuff, not all was super spiritual. God is our Father and takes that job very seriously, so much so He sent His ONLY Son to SUFFER and die for us. FOR SIN. He gave us direction on many things just like a Father does. We as children do have the right to disagree, but then we have to also answer for our decisions. Many people are trying to get knowledge by listening to others, there are some you can listen to but they are few and far between. Many of us are slanted by the way we live and the way we have been raised so everyone has some baggage. If you really want to get free, do your own Bible study and pray for wisdom.
Shalom

>Yes he did. He didn't leave us with nothing. He was behind every single word written in there. It's got his signature all over it. It's our instruction for righteousness.

You can prove that?

>Look if you wanna go ahead and be gay, then do it.

Are you incapable of reading? I'm not actually gay.

I can't just do something when I have no desire to do so.

>No one can stop you.

This is true. However, you can attach a stigma to homosexuality and make it virtually impossible for the gay community to live in comfort in our society. Not preventing, but certainly not helping the cause. Go figure.

>It's your choice.

How is it a choice? Could you elaborate on that for me.

> You cant say that you never knew it was wrong or no-one warned you.

I don't feel it's wrong. If I ever meet God one day, I'll say the same thing to him. I care about him, I'm grateful for life, and I respect his beliefs, but I disagree with this one.

I hope God is able to understand that.

> If you wanna say things on this site against our God then your going to upset a few because we live and breathe for him.

we believe in the same God. I just don't believe God is as intolerant as he's portrayed in the bible.

As people here have said - there' no sense in looking for logic here. Religion is faith. My faith leads me to believe that God is a tolerant person who wouldn't hate gay people for a choice that was out of their control.

>and if your looking for justification or back-up, then you're not going to get it here.

Do you really think I decided to post a pro-gay thread on a Christian board, while expecting backup?
I'm tolerant, not irrational.

>We can only help people that want to come to God for help. If your looking for help then go to a gay site. They will back you up and make you feel good about yourself. Dont play with us. Maybe one day you will change your views. Who knows. The seed is planted, one day it might sprout. We never say never.

There is just so much wrong with that last paragraph. I don't even...

Nick, in response to what I wrote earlier you said, So you've met him? I have a relationship with God. I believe what the Bible says. Scripture is truth. I believe God is the same yesterday, today and forever because Scripture says it.

Narrow minded? Yes you have the choice to do whatever you wish. You also have the choice to suffer the consequences made by that Choice. You chose to be Gay, Then you state God made you that way. Did God make the man who "Chose" to be a rapist and a murderer, a "rapist or murderer" No, God did not make them that way. Sexuality is a choice. Stop using it as an excuse.

You will have to forgive me if I am Narrow minded when people who sin say "god made them that way" God no more made you a gay person than he made a rapist, a murder, a liar a thief or anyone else who sins. People do this by their choice. To say God made them that way is an excuse that is getting old.

God does not make sin. Man does, by choosing to follow the desires of their own hearts separate from God. And what happens when man does this? Nothing good has ever come from this.

>Like the Bible says that if a man has long hair it is a shame to him,for even nature teaches that it is a shame for a man to have long hair.
>Even nature teaches that it is a shame for a man to have long hair,so it is a set course that man should know not to have long hair, and to go against that would be going against something that is a set rule.

Have you ever taken a look at a portrait of Jesus?
They do not portray Jesus rightly for Jesus had short hair, and because they show Him with long hair does not mean He had long hair, for how would they know not having seen Him.

7For a man indeed ought not to cover his head, forasmuch as he is the image and glory of God: but the woman is the glory of the man.
14Doth not even nature itself teach you, that, if a man have long hair, it is a shame unto him(1 Corinthians 11:7,14).

The Bible says a man should have short hair because he is in the image of God.Jesus came in the image of God and is a man,so Jesus would of had short hair.It is a shame for a man to have long hair,so Jesus would have had short hair.

It's the same argument with every single one of you.

God said it so it must be true- you can't prove God said that.

Don't argue with God- is my job as a Christian to blindly follow God even if I disagree with him? That's ignorant.

You aren't allowed to disagree with God, it's a sin. Living in fear or forming my own opinions.
I'll take the latter option.

Bias studies from the 50s show that homosexuality wasn't prevalent in most cultures in the 50s.
I can't imagine why a study would conclude that. YouTube - Creepy 1950's Anti-Homosexual PSA Not at all.

God didn't create homosexuality, the devil did- Can you prove that? Either way being gay wasn't their choice.
How can you hold it against them?
I can prove it better than you can disprove it, besides my own experience with God, I have a ton of research showing that the bible is what it claims to be, right and the Word of God.

Did you know that of all the ancient writings like Aristotle, Socrates, Caesar and the Gallic Wars, etc, that we all learn as truth in school that these guys wrote these things, the closest manuscript to the original writing is more than 750 years. That is 750 years of copy after copy with the potential of error. And for most of these writings we have less than a hundred manuscripts, alot of them only one or two manuscripts. Now with the new testament there are manuscripts dating back to 25 years after the writing of the books, and there are in existence over 24000 manuscripts of the new testament alone(the closest to those numbers is the Illiad by Homer at 643 manuscripts and Pliny the Younger 750 years from the original). Even if I destroyed all the manuscripts and bibles and only had the letters of the 1st century church, I could reconstruct the New Testament, word for word, missing only 8 verses. This is because the early church used to quote chunks of the Gospel, Paul's and other letters in their correspondence to each other. The Bible is as it was. If you find that amazing let me spend sometime with you and share all the stuff surrounding these facts including all the info pointing to its truth.

I consider myself to be a very religious person, but I have a hard time understanding God's views on homosexuality. I don't think there's anything wrong with it, and can't for the life of me understand why it's considered a sin along with horrible atrocities like rape and so on. Being gay doesn't hurt anyone.

Anyway, I'm curious to know why people here feel it's wrong. I asked a family member this question once and instead of receiving an answer, I was yelled at.
Im not surprised you were yelled at lol.
People always harp on about their rights but forget to think about their responsibilities.
I agree with Merry so I wont add more except this as a reply to your last sentence.
People who sin would love to think that their sin only affects themselves and them only. Oh how wrong is that assumption. Sin affects everyone.

The abomination referred to in the bible used today to justify the hatred of loving, same-sex relationships actually referred to male-male rape perpetrated on prisoners taken in battle by the ancient Babylonians. They would also urinate on them as a show of superiority...THAT is an abomination. Much different than love. This is why the Early Hebrews and Christians found even the thought so abhorrent as reflected in the texts. But It's not about the act, it's about who you fall in love with. If you're heterosexual, could you learn to fall in love with a member of the same gender?..or commit to be alone the rest of your life? What if you woke up tomorrow and it was illegal to marry the opposite sex? All TV, radio etc. portrayed only same-sex relationships? What if you could lose your job, your friends and family if they found out about the one you love? That is what it's like to be gay. I've been a gay Christian for 30 years and I've never felt closer to God. What would Jesus do, forget about contemporary Christianity, Religion, doctrine...Jesus did not have his teachings written, they were written in response to Roman decree to get protection from persecution 40-60 years later. The Truth...and deep down in your heart you know what it is and it's different for all of us. Trust your heart, for therein lies the Truth and it shall set you free.

Thanks for listening...be content.

Jesus came to me in a near death exp. when I was 12. I had some visions at 35, now I'm 49 and I finally hear Him clearly! He said to me:

"All this concern over sin and evil saddens me. If you
concern yourself with sin and evil, you will see and reap sin and evil. I dedicated my life to teaching that the old covenant is dead. What the Pharisees taught was to keep you oppressed. As I have said, the letter of the law kills but the spirit gives life. To him that it is sin it is sin, but to him that it is not if it harms not, it is not. The law of God is written in the hearts of men, not in the Koran, Torah, not in the Bible. If you lack wisdom ask. Do as I did, look within for the Holy spirit. If the letter, the word, if the law, if my body, my blood was the path to salvation, than all would already be dust. If your right hand causes you to sin, then why haven't you cut it off? Why have you not plucked out your eye? Because just as you cannot be perfect with two hands or eyes, you will never be perfect with one.

What does your conscience tell you? Are your motives and intentions those of love and compassion? Then darkness cannot touch you. I am the son of Man...as are you. We are One. Do not worship me! I am not an idol, nor is my cross. I did not come that you would worship me, Jesus, but The Holy Spirit who dwells within me, and also within you. I was merely the first to expose the dangers of doctrine, the evil of politicizing spirit by creating a standard, a set of steps one must take to be loved without judgment. I stood up to those who could not tolerate the idea that God was not in the Torah, not in the Temple, but within them, and that they were in Him…that they and God were One as all is One. How can that which is imperfect be perfect…only All is perfect. No word, no matter if said by Moses or David or Mathew or Ruth…no word of any volume is less than written by God, or more than written by Man, and subject to the scrutiny of one's God-given mind. He who is greater than all imagining cannot be summed up by the words of anyone. Learn from the wisdom in the word but do not worship or exalt those words. I went to the Father so we could be One. We are all but drops in the same Ocean. Love thy Lord God with all your heart, mind and soul. Love your neighbor as yourself. Let compassion be your guide. Let he w

You know why it's easy to pick on Gays? because to me it's icky. As a straight person, I find it grose.

I wonder if that is the real motive behind all the hate.

I personally have made contact with many GBLT folks online that have self harmed and hated themselves because of how they have been treated by Christians, their church, their media, the politicians.

If you can stand by and think that atmosphere of hate is okay, because you justify it by some verses in the bible or by your personal revulsion, then you don't belong in the Kingdom of Heaven.

I was born straight, it wasn't a choice. I think if you believe it's a choice, then you most likely are a closeted self hating GBLT yourself.

nickkk, from what i have read, you dont want a Biblical answer, because many of us have already given that to you...
it sounds like you want to justify immorality... you can't justify or rationalize with God. He has rules, and as Christians, we are called to obey them. If we break those rules, there are consequences. that's how it is.

Yahweh created Adam and Eve... not Adam and Steve.
Yahweh created man and woman for a purpose... and He wants it to be man and woman when it comes to sex. why do you think Sodom and Gomorrah was destroyed?

no one is created gay. it is a choice. i personally came close to making that choice, and it came really close, but ultimately, i chose not to be gay.
There is no gene that makes a person gay... a homosexual person is someone who has chosen to live a life of sexual immorality... but here's the kicker: Yahweh treats it the exact same way as the sin of pre-marital sex between a man and a woman.

God cannot stand sexual immorality of any kind... it is a terrible sin. 1 Corinthians 6 goes into it... its not just a sin, it is a sin against our body, or our temple. it is defiling the temple within us that the Holy Spirit resides in. It's a terrible sin... but it's not impossible to overcome

>You keep saying God feels or felt this was wrong.
What you need to see is that God created and made this wrong.

So, he created gay people for the sole purpose of being societies punching bag?
That doesn't actually make any sense at all. Why would God create innocent people, use the bible to attach a stigma to them, and then sit around watching as they're persecuted for something he's responsible for?

>He also has a great sence of humor as well.

Apparently! However, this unfathomable humor God has seems to escape me.
The standard Sodom and Gomorrah argument kills it for me.

>This is a truth you need to obey

Why? I was born with free will for a reason. I don't believe God wanted me to be a mindless slave to his every (and most likely misinterpreted) word.

>I know it feels wrong, but there are many wrongs that have been done simply because of how some one felt.

That doesn't actually make any sense.

Intolerance feels wrong because it in fact is wrong. But it's morally acceptable because God said it was ok to be ignorant?

>Attacking and harming some one that is homosexual simply because some one feels it is wrong, is also being disobedient to God.

Sodom and Gomorrah.

>There are many that disobey, because it feels wrong or right, and because of this, many are harmed.
Saddly many equate saying somethig being wrong as a judgeing the person.
One should not judge any person.

But the bible labels those who're gay as sinners.

How is that not making a moral judgement?

>Instead of telling God how wrong you feel this is, ask God Our Father to help you recieve His understanding in this.

He's not answering my calls.

Seriously, I'd like to know why he allegedly feels this way. Moreover, I'd like to know why the people here feel this way.
As to the first statement, I should have clarified better, God is creator, and said this is wrong. :)
I could discuss all your other arguments, but I did not speak to you to argue, but to witness to God Our Fathers great love and wisdom for you.
It is about disagreeing as you said.
But the disagreement is between you and God Our Father.
I hope and pray that you will come to know what is God Our Fathers truth, care, wisdom and love in all He has given you in Jesus Christ is Lord.
Remember though, Jesus said one must set aside their very self, if they want to follow Him.
In Jesus, God bless.

It is God's Will that mankind multiply. If HE'd created Adam and Steve or Madam and Eve, there'd be no more people. One purpose for sex is to reproduce. Homosexuals cannot reproduce. They can only recruit.

To people who think a person is born homosexual,I do not believe it.

If a man has all the male body parts, then surely he has to be more male than female, then he should lean towards women.

The Bible says that the angels always behold the face of the Father for the little ones. That means they are protected by angels spiritually, for they are innocent, having not the knowledge of sin.

Babies are innocent and have a clean slate until they have the knowledge of sin that it is wrong and do it.

To say a person is born homosexual, would be labeling that baby as having sin in their life, when God said they are innocent when they are born.

To say a person is born homosexual,a person could say a person is born to steal,or to covet their neighbors wife, then nobody could be guilty of sin for they would be born that way.

Babies are born innocent, and it is later on that they will sin, which all will sin first before they come to God,for while babies are born innocent with no sin attached to them, all people are still born not knowing God,and will sin first later on in life before coming to God.

To say that people are born homosexual is to say that God puts a sin in their life, when it is people who does the sin and puts it in their life.

The only way sin can be in a person's life is if they choose that sin,for God would not allow anybody to have sin in their life when they are born, for then they have an excuse for their behavior, which God said it is wrong.
