From my personal experience. It is foolishness to some because satans ace trump is religion..............you can be good enough, do this, don't do that and even mix a little Jesus in with it. "you will be ok" satan says.

The sinners, who know that they don't have a prayer. Seem more able to see the power of God and LOVE in the Cross.

because the carnal mind cannot understand the things of the Spirit.
1Co 2:14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

When a person is drawn by the Father (john 6:44) and accepts the Savior into their heart and life, He quickens the Spirit and the darkness is dispelled, only then can one truly see and begin to understand.

THE MESSAGE of THE CROSS...
foolishness to some

But the POWER of GOD for others?
It is foolishness to some, because they do not believe it,and cannot understand how a person can give their life on a cross, and shed His blood to take away our sins,to have a relationship with God,when they believe all you have to do is believe in a God.

It does not make sense to them the message of Christianity, for they do not believe that it is legitimate, and it does not make sense that they have to believe that, and comply,to have a relationship with God.

And then there are the atheists,or occultists, that honor the God of forces, who will think it is foolishness, because of their concept of no personal God.

Those that accept the cross makes sense to them, for they understand that a sinless man can only reconcile us to God,and be our Mediator, for we have a tendency to sin,and cannot have a relationship with God on our own,and they understand that blood is what takes away sins, and understand that they need the Spirit, the help of God to have a relationship with God.

Basically to those in the world the cross does not make sense to have a relationship with God,or to benefit spiritually, like people that say there are many paths to God,their different religions,or spiritual evolution, and to those that do not believe in a personal God,well they for sure are going to think it is foolishness.

To the saints it makes sense, and understandable to them, that this is the way to have a relationship with God,for they know they are sinners that need to be forgiven, and their sins washed away,to have a relationship with a loving, and good,God,for creation testifies of that,so the world is without excuse.

1 Cor 1:21-1 Cor 2:13 For since in the wisdom of God the world through its wisdom did not know him, God was pleased through the foolishness of what was preached to save those who believe. Jews demand signs and Greeks look for wisdom, but we preach Christ crucified: a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to Gentiles, but to those whom God has called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God. For the foolishness of God is wiser than human wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than human strength.

Brothers and sisters, think of what you were when you were called. Not many of you were wise by human standards; not many were influential; not many were of noble birth. But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong. God chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things--and the things that are not--to nullify the things that are, so that no one may boast before him.

It is because of him that you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God--that is, our righteousness, holiness and redemption. Therefore, as it is written: "Let the one who boasts boast in the Lord."

And so it was with me, brothers and sisters. When I came to you, I did not come with eloquence or human wisdom as I proclaimed to you the testimony about God. For I resolved to know nothing while I was with you except Jesus Christ and him crucified. I came to you in weakness with great fear and trembling.

My message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit's power, so that your faith might not rest on human wisdom, but on God's power.

We do, however, speak a message of wisdom among the mature, but not the wisdom of this age or of the rulers of this age, who are coming to nothing. No, we declare God's wisdom, a mystery that has been hidden and that God destined for our glory before time began. None of the rulers of this age understood it, for if they had, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.

However, as it is written: "What no eye has seen, what no ear has heard, and what no human mind has conceived" -- the things God has prepared for those who love him--these are the things God has revealed to us by his Spirit.

The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God. For who knows a person's thoughts except their own spirit within them? In the same way no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God. What we have received is not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may understand what God has freely given us.

This is what we speak, not in words taught us by human wisdom but in words taught by the Spirit, explaining spiritual realities with Spirit-taught words.

The answer and the HIDDEN WISDOM of GOD is found in 1 Corinthians 1 through 1 Corinthians 2:5

Why didn't Paul continue to baptize men since he preached The MESSAGE of THE CROSS that the power of the cross to convict would not be emptied of its power?

Why did he seem to be clear to remind the people that he didn't baptize everyone but only a few?

was it because Paul could baptize or because it is GOD who baptzes?

Was it that all men might hear the GOSPEL as it should be heard?

As from GOD?
And not from men

Don't let The Cross be emptied of its POWER

When the people heard THE GOSPEL they were "cut to the heart"
then and afterwards they asked what should they do

not before and not until they heard and believed upon the heart THE GOSPEL and believed

so many heard Him and saw what He did, and yet, they said He was doing the devil's work...

just imagine the wickedness that He walked among while performing His miracles of Love...

He is our perfect Example...may those who He is calling be steadfast and always ready
when He calls us to follow...

THE MESSAGE of THE CROSS...
foolishness to some

But the POWER of GOD for others?
People who embrace immoral sexual lust, substance abuse, pride, and other sins might not be fond of the message of the cross. However, Christ's way is the way that leads to security and contentment.
