I thank you all for your comments very helpful
I do unstandstand as a Christian one can sin through temptations, weakness, slothfulness or through pride (stubbon)
And if they were to ask forgivness God will forgive.
Hebrews 10:26 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,
Does this sripture implies if one commits this type of sin, there is no forgivness?
All the replies are good but I'm still not there unless I'm missinterpretating the scripture
Thqnkyou
Hebrews is getting at the people who wilfully walk away from God, who disregard everything.
My view is it is about how sin destroys ones faith. We are saved by grace, and kept because of our relationship.
But if we disregard this and continue in sin, it will destroy the relationship and our faith.

We will awake with an empty place and wonder what happened.
After a time we can attempt to restore our walk with Him. But the warning is, this is not possible.

What is wilful sin?
Hebrews 10:26 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,
Is this the sin unto death?
1 John 5:16 If any man see his brother sin a sin which is not unto death, he shall ask, and he shall give him life for them that sin not unto death. There is a sin unto death: I do not say that he shall pray for it.

Thanks
The context of Hebrews 10 lists exactly what is being talked about.........forsaking the assembling together as the manner of some and in so doing, counting the blood of Jesus a common ordinary base thing!!

The Lord himself buried Moses and the location of burial is known only by God. Afterwards Moses went to heaven as noted in the NT along with Elijah when Jesus was transfigured.
Hold on here tourist, no man has ascended to heaven (John 3:13 - Acts 2:34). The transfiguration was a vision (Matt. 17:9), it didn't really happen. It shows Christ Glorified, which is yet future.

It implies, to wilfully sin, you are telling the Grace of God, "in the long run I am with you 100%, but I am going to handle this current situation on my own terms, in the mannerism that is best, and I will tally the total when I am done and we can settle this and be square!!"
Yet we tell God we will do things for ourselves all the time. We claim we carry our worries to God and turn them over. But do we really? If we presently turn around and start worrying have we not just taken the burden back?

My theory on willful sin is having a habit like fornication and saying, we cannot do without that so God will just have to understand. I have actually heard this statement made. When we recognize it, we need to warn this person: No, you will just have to understand. :(:rolleyes:

My two cents -
There are sins of comission and sins of omission. In other words Sins of comission are bad things that you do and sins of omission are good things that you could have done but didnt do
I think another term for wilful sin is to sin presumtptously. In the OT there are different sacrificies for different type of sin, the presumptous sin required more sacrifices. The sin of ignorance less penalties.

This coming in from a different angle ...... which is good
Just two question....... was the writer addressing Believers or non-believers? Would a non-believer understand this type of sin
Please don't be offended bro its good knowing from all angles
Not experiencing any offense from your posts.. Not offended at all. :)
I don't have a clue as to why i would be offended

Well a person needs to believe in God and believe in demons to commit the sin of Blasphemy of the Holy Spirit..

The scribes that accused Jesus believed in the God of Abraham and believed in the demon that they named..

So i do not believe that a person who does not believe in God and does not believe in demons could blaspheme the Holy Spirit.. So i do not believe the preaching about blasphemy of the Holy Spirit is directed to atheists..

The specific preaching about wilful sin is directed at Believers.. Because it deals with doing it after one has become a believer in the LORD Jesus Christ..

Yes unbelievers can and do commit wilful sin but they have not been saved yet so their wilful sin is forgivable if they come to believe Jesus and trust in the Atonement Jesus secured to have their sins forgiven..

There is no forgiveness because to be a follower of Jesus one must believe Jesus His teachings.. So for instance Jesus said even if i look at a woman to lust for her then i have committed adultery.. So if i was the type of guy who spent his lunch hour actively looking out for pretty woman to spend my time thinking about having sex with them and after that thought it was a good thing to be doing and thought that the words of Jesus on the matter where ridiculous or even unjustly oppressive then i could not then call myself a person who believes Jesus..

To be forgiven a sin one must at lest acknowledge their sin is sin to God.. If one believes their sin is not sin and never aknowledge it as such to God how then can God justly forgive that person their sin..

Willful sin is unbelief no faith .The sin unto death, is unbelief.

Lots of people have disbelieved during their lives but later they have come to reassess their position and they have come to believe Jesus and accept the Way of salvation Jesus secured for them.. If unbelief was an unforgivable sin then no convert to Christianity would be saved.. It would be a waste of time going out and sharing the Gospel to unbelievers because they would have already sinned the unforgivable sin..

So unbelief is not an unforgivable sin..
And that means it is not blasphemy of the Holy Spirit..

I would put sinful actions into various groupings
1. Emotional compulsion - a situation repeats and leads one to sinful behaviour
2. Chosen action - by ones will a sinful deed is going to be committed
3. Unexpected action - a situation comes about, and a sinful action results but is not contemplated

Wilful sin to my mind, is a chosen sinful action that is continued with no desire to change or stop
continuing in the behaviour.

This distinguishes things from addictive behaviour, conditional behaviour, in built cycles of response.
So Judas is a prime example of such sin. In the face of everything, he freely chose to betray Jesus.
To this I say Amen.

Although yet to be conviced this applies to the verses in hand.

I am working through how to verbalise such a difficult concept.
There are so many different people and groups and some things are so off the wall,
it has to be driven by people who are beyond hope. But most have ups and downs
and the Lord still works strongly through them.
