The Bible is clear on the state of the dead.

It is abomination to talk to evil spirits.
All dead relatives are in the grave and awaiting the resurection

as a person in sleep.

that chicken fool will always try and get someone to talk to the dead?

These guys speak the truth from the bible. It's not their words.

Ecclesiastes 9:
5 For the living know that they shall die: but the dead know not any thing, neither have they any more a reward; for the memory of them is forgotten.
6 Also their love, and their hatred, and their envy, is now perished; neither have they any more a portion for ever in any thing that is done under the sun.

Deuteronomy 18:
9 When thou art come into the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee, thou shalt not learn to do after the abominations of those nations.
10 There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch.
11 Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer.
12 For all that do these things are an abomination unto the Lord: and because of these abominations the Lord thy God doth drive them out from before thee.

Will God allow family members come to you in a dream?

A family member i wasn't very close to came to me into a dream and gave me a little clarification about something that i had been praying about. in the dream he told me things that ended up helping his wife with certain things that she was struggling with privately. that even i was unaware of. for some reason i cant make sense of it and i dont know if it was from myself or if God really did allow him to communicate through the dream thank you.

No. God only allowed three souls to come back (ghosts I guess you could say)- Samuel, Moses, and Elijah. And now that the bible is complete there are no more prophets or miracles. God can give someone a dream, but the actual soul of someone who past away will not come to visit you.

Why would you say something like that? Have you know sense of decency?
18 posts before yours. Want to tell who you're asking? (I didn't see anything indecent, but then again, not a subject that interest me, so I wasn't looking hard.)

Exactly,I wish there was a way old threads could be pulled.Someone always digs them up again. If you dont look closely you end up commenting.
Meh. Either find an old post about something you're interested in or get people complaining because we covered this often enough. Can't win either way. Why not repost a dusty one, as long as people realize the OP was from long ago, so don't start there?

I figure people are interested or they wouldn't have found it, but dusting it off is a good way of giving hints not to answer a poster from years ago. Besides, I'm not really doing housework. Just pretending. lol

The mediator is Jesus. If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it. Ask Jesus not a charlatan.
Or God may send some messenger.

My 27 year old son died 2 years ago and my wife died about 15 months ago.
I think that after my son being dead for about 2 or 3 months, I "saw" him and spoke to him in one dream.
Same with my wife, although it was not direct, was more symbolic, and a much longer dream, and was about 8 or 9 months after she died.
But I am the first to say I can't state with conviction that it was "them". Who knows, maybe it was, maybe not.
All I can say is it seemed vivid and real to me.

The only biblical reference I can think of off-hand is this one ... and the request to visit a loved one is denied ...

Luke 16:19-31New International Version (NIV)

The Rich Man and Lazarus
19 “There was a rich man who was dressed in purple and fine linen and lived in luxury every day. 20 At his gate was laid a beggar named Lazarus, covered with sores 21 and longing to eat what fell from the rich man’s table. Even the dogs came and licked his sores.

22 “The time came when the beggar died and the angels carried him to Abraham’s side. The rich man also died and was buried. 23 In Hades, where he was in torment, he looked up and saw Abraham far away, with Lazarus by his side. 24 So he called to him, ‘Father Abraham, have pity on me and send Lazarus to dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue, because I am in agony in this fire.’

25 “But Abraham replied, ‘Son, remember that in your lifetime you received your good things, while Lazarus received bad things, but now he is comforted here and you are in agony. 26 And besides all this, between us and you a great chasm has been set in place, so that those who want to go from here to you cannot, nor can anyone cross over from there to us.’

27 “He answered, ‘Then I beg you, father, send Lazarus to my family, 28 for I have five brothers. Let him warn them, so that they will not also come to this place of torment.’

29 “Abraham replied, ‘They have Moses and the Prophets; let them listen to them.’

30 “‘No, father Abraham,’ he said, ‘but if someone from the dead goes to them, they will repent.’

31 “He said to him, ‘If they do not listen to Moses and the Prophets, they will not be convinced even if someone rises from the dead.’”

Maybe not but that passage does not say what many say without adding and taking away much.

First, Abraham says there is an impassible gulf between the rich guy in Hell or Hades and Abraham and unspecified others. A barrier around people in heaven and people in hell is what is specifically mention. Anything else is an addition. Then the guy in hell asks Abraham to send Lazarus from heaven to his family on earth. Abraham answers twice. Neither time does he say this is impossible. He answers that the family would not believe and that they already have the prophets.

It could still be not possible. But this is not specifically said in the passage, although many say it does.

Furthermore, this passage demonstrates that the departed have some form of will, desire, and interest in their families.

Yes, absolutely!!! Have you heard of this minister/missionary Dr. Kenneth McAll? He wrote two books on this type of thing, which I think more Christians need to read. Here are the books, they are both short reads.

"Healing the Family Tree"
"Healing the Haunted"

Dr. Kenneth McAll has ministered to so many and has seen so many healed of mental illness. He was a missionary and also a psychiatrist. Please take time to see that God can work through such things.

Blessings,
Misti

My advise would be to not be bothered by it.

Sirach 34:1-8Revised Standard Version (RSV)

Dreams Mean Nothing

1 A man of no understanding has vain and false hopes,
and dreams give wings to fools.
2 As one who catches at a shadow and pursues the wind,
so is he who gives heed to dreams.
3 The vision of dreams is this against that,
the likeness of a face confronting a face.
4 From an unclean thing what will be made clean?
And from something false what will be true?
5 Divinations and omens and dreams are folly,
and like a woman in travail the mind has fancies.
6 Unless they are sent from the Most High as a visitation,
do not give your mind to them.
7 For dreams have deceived many,
and those who put their hope in them have failed.
8 Without such deceptions the law will be fulfilled,
and wisdom is made perfect in truthful lips.

Hi,

My wife passed on sometimes last month. However, there have been visions that she is with Christ. One of my in-laws also had a vision where she came visiting home, and was glowing, shining and sparkling in some sort of white stars. Another person was taken to heaven to visit her in her home. She said she is in a big home, and she took the person to her bedroom. She laid on the bed and was smiling and looking very happy. In real life, she passed on two days after she bore our second child. So, in the vision, the person asked her why she still has a big tummy and why she left her two children behind, the person said she was just smiling and didn't respond with any word but laughter and happiness. Afterwards, God told me in a prophecy that she is resting with Him, and that He (God) would take me on a visit to see His glory and then visit heaven to see my wife. This has greatly comforted me, but you know how it is... I miss the earthly times, but truth is she is in a better place than I am.

I am sharing this to encourage the faith of those whose loved ones have passed on. If you are privileged to know they passed on to Christ, then be glad and rejoice, because eventually, it would not matter if we lived a 100 years or 20. Where we spend our eternity would override the few moments we spend on earth.

And as for me, I am privileged to be a son of God, and to be loved by Him. So I am assured I would be where Jesus is, after my assignment is completed on earth.
