Do you think lobotomies will be healed here or must wait for that great Hospital in the sky?

I jest a bit. Just a bit. Ephesians 4:2 ...forbearing one another in love.......in a word, 'putting up with one another,' like you guys do with me, and visey versey...still jesting some about digesting some.

But I'm talking about another gross problem within the body politic. Slighting, snubbing, smart mouths, rejecting, arrogant attitudes, etc., etc.,

God has the bigger picture, I get that. But are we not at all responsible for our less than 'christian' performances around others?
Are we simply robots with no responsibility or accountability at all? Damage done be hung?

I think I just answered it.

Im writing this as an open rebuke to sloppy uncaring Christians. So beware! Smile. Always a smile. I love you all to pieces!

One example to clarify my thesis: My wife went to a 'bible believing church', so called, when she was a little girl. Her family not Christians. By herself.
It was a church pot luck....good luck!?
She had brought cookies she had made. Church being all new to her she didn't know what to expect. No sign posts up ahead reading 'Next stop! The twilight zone'. I jest a little again. Maybe I shouldn't. Deadly serious situation.

Some church ladies setting up the table with food. One lady tried one of my wife's cookies ...in front of her, and said 'who made these cookies, they're horrible'? Wasn't that precious? The love of Jesus on display. Welcome to zombieville.
A little girl left. She went home crying. I could share hundreds of incidences.

She accepted Christ years later thanks be unto God. I've always maintained that God saves folks not because of, but in spite of churchianity!

Ive heard it from the pulpit many times that if you have been hurt, you need to forgive the offender and grow up!! Put your big boy or girl pants on. A sound rebuke to the crushed. Sweet! I just love church!

Yes, forgive the offender. Total agreement. But I do not hold to always putting the offended down like they are some sort of worm.

Just once someone needs to tell the offenders to quit offending! I guess that's what I'm doing now.

Hey, love you all but you who have loose tongues, you know who you are, need to lay your tongue out on the altar....all ten feet of it...and repent!.if you knowwhatimean!
Need to get unlobotomized........in a word...grow a brain with a dash of common sense, a pinch of natural affection, and a whole lotta Jesus out of the bible, off the pages, and into your heart! Be free. Be blessed!

Wow, how horrible for your wife! As someone who's traveled in hundreds of churches let your wife know adults have some pretty terrible offerings in pot lucks too. One that stands out in my mind is the cheese whiz and cherries sandwiches. Ya,after 20 yrs of travel I still cant forget that one. I ate all kinds of things with a smile, because people had gone out of their way to prepare a meal for us. Whether church ladies or the pastors wife. Some people are just ignorant. Yes Christians should be different. In a perfect world Christians would be mature and loving, caring. But its not always the way.I always try to remind others and myself that we point people to Christ, not Christians. He is the master,we are the students. And as a student I admit I still have A LOT to learn. As the old song goes "he's still working on me"

Well I'm glad that you're glad and that you staid the course and read the whole piece, for the sake of peace. Hopefully some will take it to heart and yes Ive been guilty as well. Maybe all of us improve on this. Be free. Be blessed.

I understand the type of churches you are talking about.I dont mean to excuse that behavior.I grew up in a church full of what I would call "cliques". You would go to a pot luck and sit alone. No one would welcome you. You could walk into church and out again and no one would have spoken to you. And you were part of the church! I've always spoken out against that type of behavior. If we cant even accept our own how can we accept unsaved people? I totally agree with you there.

Slighting, snubbing, smart mouths, rejecting, arrogant attitudes, etc., etc.,
T'is the human condition, and sadly why Christ chose to die for us.

Are we simply robots with no responsibility or accountability at all?
I suggest a 12 step program for everyone.

You do make me smile :) Also I do have quite a good sense of humour despite also taking myself too seriously at times. Perspective is always a good thing; seeing into the mirror even though darkly at times, sometimes the refection is crystal clear. Scripture helps it to be so.

People have been shot through the head and still manage some semblance of capacity. I suppose the most true answer is, if God has some purpose for the mind-damaged person, if healing the mind works to that purpose, God can and will do it.

-or-
God might then lend that purpose to another if the first's capacity to too far destroyed. In any event, I pray God's will be done.

Am I missing something here? Smile.

I took it all as allegorical, damaged minds, expressions through hurt capacities and God's will in our lives. I cited a parallel allegory to express I understood some, and hope for the best.
