there is no commandment in Moses law to give your possessions to the poor the rich young ruler was like the Pharisees he kept the rules but had no compassion on others

He lacked this part as so many do

“Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren. But whoso hath this world's good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him?

My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth. And hereby we know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our hearts before him.”
‭‭1 John‬ ‭3:16-19‬ ‭KJV‬‬

we can keep ten rules and not give even a little care to anyone else I can keep the Ten Commandments and never have a compassionate thought of another I could do not because I’m afraid of o step out of line God will destroy me like under Moses law like this guy

“And while the children of Israel were in the wilderness, they found a man that gathered sticks upon the sabbath day. And the LORD said unto Moses, The man shall be surely put to death: all the congregation shall stone him with stones without the camp. And all the congregation brought him without the camp, and stoned him with stones, and he died; as the LORD commanded Moses.”
‭‭Numbers‬ ‭15:32, 35-36‬ ‭KJV‬‬

That’s not the kind of obedience God desires we can’t be like inmates restrained from doing evil we need a heart transplant so we begin to care about o her people truly enough to say “ “hey that person over there has no food I have money in my pocket and I have plenty of food let me help that destitute person with my extra because I care about them “

this should be part of what our heart does when we see people we can help

at he rich young man was like the group who honored God with words but thier hearts were far away from his God ultimately needs us to see what Jesus did for us who were destitute spiritually so we will respond and live o her people the same way that’s the bottom line of we keep rules isn’t the same as loving other people we need tomlewrn to love notice this guys response and how Jesus didn’t have to even mention it it came from zacceus heart

“And Zacchæus stood, and said unto the Lord; Behold, Lord, the half of my goods I give to the poor; and if I have taken any thing from any man by false accusation, I restore him fourfold.

And Jesus said unto him, This day is salvation come to this house, forsomuch as he also is a son of Abraham. For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.”
‭‭Luke‬ ‭19:8-10‬
He was keeping neither the first commandment or the commandment found in Leviticus 19:18.
He was breaking the commandments of God without even being aware of it.
That's what Jesus was pointing out to him.

I will, but first you need to promise me, you will stop teaching this passage as you are now.
Promise?
You want me to obey you and not God? You don't even understand the teaching of these verses. No flesh will ever be justified by works of the law. Not because the law is bad, it is perfect. It is the weakness and imperfection the flesh. Jesus is pointing out the imperfection of the rich young ruler. He is not without sin and thus cannot inherit eternal life through the law. He understood what Jesus was teaching. That's why he went away sad. He didn't truly love his neighbour as himself. Neither did he love God above his riches.

Cameron...I know you can't keep that promise, but please try and I will answer your question.

Jesus was telling the man, if what he said was True, that he was able to keep the Commandments..it meant he had been born of God. And when someone is born of God two things change about them.
First is they can not sin...and the second is they are unable to hate their neighbor.
This is clearly written in (1 John 3:9-10) where it says...
Whosoever is born of God does not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loves not his brother.

If this man had been born of God, he would have loved his brother, and because he loved his brother, he would have joyfully given to the poor instead of walking away. Jesus was showing the man the true condition of his heart. But unfortunately many do not believe this clearly written scripture either, so it must have someones commentary to make it a lie also. And this is why you don't know the rest of the story.

Well if you believe God is telling you to teach and make Jesus look like a liar, maybe it's not God teaching you these things. Just sayin ...

Now I understand where you are coming from at least.
But your understanding of the highlighted verses is also incorrect. But at least I understand how you have arrived at your conclusion.
You may want to read 1st John 1 a little closer before you believe people can be sinless.
I realize you are well intentioned towards me but your zeal is without knowledge.

I gave you my commentary and you don't believe me, and yet you believe in someones commentary you have probably never even talked to.

The Pope has bible commentary, Why don't you believe what he writes? Do you not also dishonor him?
I tell you why you follow one man's commentary and not another....well actually Paul will tell you.
(2 Timothy 4:3) For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear.
I guess that you have a point in that I don't know them personally, but then again, we don't know you either, right? So by your own method of eliminating teachers, you're out! lol.

No, we compare what they teach with Scripture... and as I've already pointed out, your teaching doesn't align with God's Word.

you see Gods love here

“Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.”
‭‭1 John‬ ‭3:16‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Not by leaving the edges of your crops for the poor if your brothers and sisters were hungry and you loved them , would you leave the edges of your crops for them ? Or set a table and serve them hospitably like you loved them ?

that’s the difference in what Moses said and what Jesus said one is an insufficient pattern the other is reality and eternal life

In other words when we stand before Jesus we won’t be answering for what Moses said in the ot but what Jesus taught in the New Testament

you won’t hear about leaving the edges of crops but you’ll answer in this vein so for instance judgement day

“When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory: and before him shall be gathered all nations:

Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: for I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me. …And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.

Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels: for I was an hungred, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not.

Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me.

And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭25:31-32, 34-36, 40-43, 45-46‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Do you see how Jesus isn’t going to open Moses books and judge people by what Moses said ? But it’s about this now it has nothing to do with Israel’s regulations regarding crops in Israel but it begins with what Jesus did for us now

“Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us:

and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.

‭‭1 John‬ ‭3:16-19‬

The Pharisees who owned farmlands would have most certainly left the edges of thier crops because it was commanded yet they would also see the destitute and poor and do this when Jesus talked of goving to the poor and sharing thier money and possessions

“And the Pharisees also, who were covetous, heard all these things: and they derided him. And he said unto them, Ye are they which justify yourselves before men; but God knoweth your hearts: for that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God.

The law and the prophets were until John: since that time the kingdom of God is preached, and every man presseth into it.”
‭‭Luke‬ ‭16:14-16‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Money is most highly esteemed truly on the world but to God it means nothing to us ot should be means to help others as well as care for our own needs ot shouldn’t have any more value than that but it does love of possessions and money can destroy a soul this is one of the things Jesus is addressing

the young man was rich and seemed a decent man Jesus doesn’t accuse him of deception when he says he kept them all he just says he lacked one thing , to sell his possessions give to the poor and follow Jesus

but the young man was rich and money meant more to him than the people he could have helped in Jesus name it’s sort of this same principle

“But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. And having food and raiment let us be therewith content. But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition. For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.”
‭‭1 Timothy‬ ‭6:6-10‬ ‭

which is this same principle in the gospel

“If therefore ye have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches? No servant can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.”
‭‭Luke‬ ‭16:11, 13‬ ‭KJV‬‬

the gospel is meant to change how we think the things we value most stuff like that Jesus teachings will devalue money and possessions in our hearts and he will lift up the value of other people to n our hearts making the people worth more To us than the mammon and possession and money Moses law doesn’t accomplish that it actually induces greed and self righteousness “

if they would have kept the law they wouldn’t be poor and destitute they would be rich like me “

Jesus creates a non judgemental attitude “ they have made a lot of mistakes obviously and they are broken like I was and have been or maybe am still and I can help them let me love them because of that principle that believers of the gospel have

We love because he fist loved us

As I noticed earlier, he seems to side with the Accuser's ways. Kinda' sad to watch... like a train-wreck in progress.
He seems to be an adherent to life through the law, and not by grace. So he attempts to force the new covenant into the old. He's merely putting new wine in old wineskins and doesn't understand why they keep bursting. Sounds like a great candidate for our prayers.

Naw brother we usually as Christian’s share fault but because you and I are brothers we refuse to accept any offense and so we have a good spiritual relationship even if we don’t fully agree or understand what each other is saying at any given time

We share any fault but that’s an aspect of brotherly love sharing in fault and forgetting and refusing offenses where they are never intended

your appreciated as always been needing some of that humor

They misunderstand the Lords Gospel because they simply can't see it. They don't see it, because they believe in a doctrine contrary to the one Jesus taught...so God has made blind to his Truth. They do not seek their answers from God, they seek their answers in those Bible passages, which by themselves, can be interpreted to say whatever they want them to say.
Pauls epistles for example, by themselves, can be interpreted to say whatever men want them to say. Look at all the doctrines men follow as witness to this fact. One way, but there are many doctrines for men to choose to follow.

Notice...that everyone who argues with me, or others who teach what Jesus taught, they only use the words of Paul. And they never provide you with a witnesses in the bible, which can corroborate what they believe is the context of Pauls teachings. When everyone knows Pauls cardinal rule about witnesses to what someone says. Paul taught this so people couldn't use his words against the word of Jesus Christ. Which the majority of churches do.

As to your question...which I will answer as well as I possibly can.
The Gospel of Christ is like a trail of breadcrumbs...which when followed, leads us to the truth, and learn....What we must do to be saved". This is why no one in the bible can give a comprehensive answer to this very question. We must follow Jesus, through the Holy Spirit, to find the answer. And when we do, then we shall know the way.

Most folks take the first breadcrumb, and never look for the second one believing they have been saved. Many people will die without ever looking for the second crumb, because they are turned away from the Holy Spirit by the false doctrines. Ironically...it's the false doctrine which leads us to that first crumb and then immediately whisk us away from the truth.

What is the First breadcrumb?
To Repent!!
Which is why you continue to see the word repeated throughout the bible. Jesus called it "The First Works" in (Revelation 2:5).
You see, though all believers have tried to repent, many don't do the Works needed to repent. Because many simply don't know how to repent because they decided, in complete ignorance, against being taught by God...deferring those duties to the teachings of men.
What are the First Works which Jesus talks about?
Confession of sin which is the active part of repenting.
Why do we need to confess our sin?
Though many do not know it, When we sin, that sin must be confessed.
Why?
Because Unconfessed sin is unforgiven sin.
Why must sin be forgiven?
Because sin separates us from God, (Isaiah 59:2) and until our sin is forgiven, we will walk in darkness due to that separation, because God is our light In the darkness.
So why do we need to be in the light?
Because when we are in the light, we can see what we can not see when we walk in the darkness.
What happens when we are in the light?
You can see the evil in the world, through which Satan can tempt those who walk in the darkness. If you can't recognize sin, it's very difficult to turn away from what you can not see.

But these are nothing but words..whether they come from Christ, his disciples or from me....if there is no action taken they remain powerless and you will never see the Truth in our words.
So...I offer you the second crumb....Confess your sins before God, when you sin,....and watch how the light opens your eyes!!
Test us...prove it to yourself, then we can talk about that third crumb.
As soon as you mention 'sin' and the word 'repent', the problem of interpretation rises in difficulty.

There are four definitions of sin in the scripture but they can be reduced to simply. Disobedience to God's direct instruction.

As for repentance, there is a dual meaning, turning to Jesus and forsaking sin.

I don't think it is possible to identify the breadth of sin in one's own life, though.

May I ask you to explain the following two verses?

Proverbs 10:12
Hatred stirs up strife, But love covers all offenses.

1 Peter 4:8
Above all, keep fervent in your love for one another, because love covers a multitude of sins.

Grace is a boundless source of power from God that is given to us. This gift is often accepted by people for their past sins and they stop here. JUSTIFICATION.
God wants so much more, even the holy standard that Jesus was when on Earth, PERFECTION.
Grace is given for more then just justification, it is also for us to be transformed into Gods image.

If your not growing in grace it is because Gods grace is lacking, it is because you lack faith. Or because you do not realize your needs.

Eph 4:12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:
2Co 6:1 We then, as workers together with him, beseech you also that ye receive not the grace of God in vain.
1Pe 4:10 As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.

Eph 4:13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:

God's grace is more then able to save us from sin.

Not just past sin but also present and future sins.

If you are teaching that we should aim for anything less then perfection you are lacking faith in God's grace.

Rom 8:37 qNay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.

Rom 5:20 Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound:
Hence, we have the two commandments.

1 John 3:23-24
This is His commandment, that we believe in the name of His Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, just as He commanded us. The one who keeps His commandments abides in Him, and He in him. We know by this that He abides in us, by the Spirit whom He has given us.

1 John 4:7-8
Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. The one who does not love does not know God, for God is love.

1 John 4:12
No one has seen God at any time; if we love one another, God abides in us, and His love is perfected in us.

1 John 4:21
