John 4:23 But the hour cometh and NOW is,when the TRUE worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in TRUTH.......v.24 also

What does it mean to worship?
Worship IS a feeling or expression of REVERENCE and ADORATION for a deity.
Can people worship other things or people?

Yes they can but Gen.1:26 teaches us that we are made in his image and given DOMINION over earth's created animals. If we therefore have dominion, why should we worship it?

Lev.26:1 Ye shall MAKE you no idols ( something we worship) nor graven images...neither shall ye set up any image of STONE....to bow down unto it: for I am the Lord your God. Again WHY would we worship something we or another creates?

We are made to worship but it is God our creator we must worship!

Hopefully we can discuss what it means to worship, how worshipping effects us, how our worship can effect others, ways to worship privately and in public.
Let us do this peacefully, prayerfully and in God's order!

Thanks for your input.

I consider worship and praise of our savior being one of the same. We can do it in prayer, songs, and in private or as a group.

Worthy is the Lamb

I believe if we really understood Who God is, we would be flat on our faces before Him in worship, reverence, awe, love, thankfulness, gratitude ...

God wants us to love Him and serve Him with all our heart and I think we try to do that, but we also hold back just a little of ourselves. He knows this and still loves us. I love God!!!

Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind - Luke 10:27

Thank you.
I'd like to look at this first verse.

What is a TRUE WORSHIPPER?

We say we love God with ALL our hearts, minds, souls and strengths,so what is there left?

I assumed that the dominion was understood to be over the creatures.

But we do know there are religions that worship animals, even when the people are starving.
