My word, If you want to have a bit of fun check out the cartoon on YouTube called The Secret World of Mormonism.

After watching that I genuinely take back every negative thing I've ever said about the christian belief system.

What's wrong with the christian belief? You mean the New Testament?

I'm just not a believer Jody. I came on here to seek some answers about stuff. Which then in turn resulted in me antagonising people, which I shouldn't have done.

There are some very intelligent people on here with very sound arguments. Which has been an eye opener for me.

I'm sorry you aren't a believer. Maybe someday you will be. Do you not believe in God? or the Bible?

It just doesn't appeal to me. There are some aspect of the belief that i dislike and I understand they are part and parcel of it.

I can't even watch a movie without questioning everything, let alone devote my life to something lol

I think it is just great that you are here :) and that you can ask what you want too, challenge and debate. We do not have 'blind' faith and I am just delighted that you feel this is a forum where you can say what you want to say! Have you heard about the 'Book of Mormon' a stage play that opened in London recently, apparently breaking the box office! :) <><

If you are wrong and you end up in Hell that would not be good!!!!!! But if you do what the Bible teaches you end up in Heaven!!!! If I'm wrong no big deal. But I understand you have to believe in God first and since you dont that wouldn't work.
How do you think this world was created?

questioning is not bad in itself. I tend to ask a lot of questions but some things I take on faith. You even take some things on faith: medicine, natural laws like gravity, etc. what parts of the belief do you dislike and are you sure they are part and parcel of it or did someone just tell you that? ....... Some Mormons actually think they follow Jesus and the Bible (obviously most Christians don't agree), so the person who told you could be mistaken as well. .... wish I could fix my enter key grrr... lol... so you are researching Mormons? haven't looked at that group in detail... don't they think you can be good enough to be a god and own your own world or something like that? ....anyway if you want to talk about the Bible and how it does NOT teach slavery. just post a thread or send an pm :) ttyl.

I've come to realise its not blind faith on here. These are rational people who sincerely believe they are doing the right thing.

I've asked questions but I don't like the answers. And that's not an insult to the faith, it just doesnt suit my ideals

And I thought surely the mormons can't believe that. Turns out they do lol. Check out that video I mentioned

This makes me smile...'it does not fit my ideals'....i think Gods ways are so far off our ways, no, He does not fit with how we would like to live our lives. Before I accepted Christ, i could not see how 'His' ways could make sense, be fair or even logical. Now, it all makes sense. Many come to know God in a very simple way, others go kicking and screaming :) questioning everything, wanting all the details answered logically and experientially....I was one of the latter! I did not like the answers one bit, but one day...i stopped fighting it and the peace and understanding simply flowed...like the proverbial river :) <><

I've never needed to turn to anyone for help or anything. I've had a fortunate life and things are going well for me.

They say there are no atheists on a sinking ship, and I hope mine never sinks lol

I also realise now how much I have just tempted fate with those remarks.

Expect to see me soon now sleeping on a bench in a dirty coat lol

If people have said anything judgemental to me on here its only cos I've goaded them into it with my stubborn attitude. So I don't blame them.

BEing humbled normally comes before conversion as pride carries self sufficiency and so by default sees no need for the Savior.

So living for eternity with your dad in paradise wouldn't suit your ideals? Or do you have a pre conception of mandatory life styles changes your not wanting to change?
