GOD didn't break off the entire nation of Israel. He only broke off those branches in Israel that didn't believe.

I think you need to review a line in Romans which goes something like this:

To be just when HE judges and the justifier of ALL whose FAITH is in HIS SON...

You think I believe a person can not walk in righteousness. False
We have to be careful here. Everytime I say walking in righteousness, blamelessly and in purity before the Lord you say am I perfect, or am I sinless. You say this because you do not believe it is possible, so true. You are lying.
You think I am a racist, and support racism, false
I did not say you were racist other than you criticised me for condemning racism in a believer. I said if you defended racism you were a racist. You claimed you are not a racist. So I do not know why you are critising me other than to continue your attempt at slander. You are a very sad individual. I think from your language you are not racist but you want to have a go at me for any excuse. So you are lying again about reporting what happened.
You think I would allow an addict to continue in her or his addiction until they died without showing them love and trying to help them False
This is a was a quote from grace7 about not condemning a believer who is addicted to drugs or alcohol.
I suggested that this kind of approach leads to saying there is no point dealing with real problems because that leads to confrontation and condemnation. I believe this is the problem of this none interventionist approach and not taking responsibility at helping others. This is true and the consequence of such approaches and not a lie.

So you are a sad individual who continual wants to provoke problems, turn issues into conflict and stoke up agression and slander. Why is it wherever you go the same things follow?

As you can see I have answered your points, and they are empty. The lack of confronting sin is the rot in the hyper-grace fellowships, this idea that taking responsibility for our lives is legalism and sinful, is preaching against the gospel of Christ.

You make yourselves out as enemies of our Lord, and show your fruits by condemning me. You have continually done this like a vendetta, a man on a mission, when there is no such mission in scripture.

So I call you out as a provocative agitator, whose fruit is trying to get people annoyed and lash out, and then you want to pounce. But it does not work, and you just end up condemning yourself, a sad empty ministry.
If that is what you think , then you deny the WORD of GOD which came to men saying that none are righteous, there is not one who does right all the time and does not sin...from the top of their head to the soles of their feet open wounds.

And in your professing that a man can walk in righteousness, you imply that CHRIST did not have to die and do for the man what the man could NOT do for himself...

This was to shut up all mouths, sir...

Please review Romans 3 and tell me how any man (apart from CHRIST) can somehow open their mouth before GOD and profess their "righteousness" apart from CHRIST'S ROYAL ROBES OF RIGHTEOUSNESS...

and this, sir...is what Job understood...even when his foolish friends portrayed GOD as a respecter of persons and "encouraged" Job to "state his case" before GOD...

There are no more prophets today...
Now I thought that as well until I found prophets in the book of Acts. I think the role of a prophet is to speak the word of God into a situation.

Now I do not see the role of the apostles continued because these were called directly by Christ to lay the foundation of the church.

Now if you can say the prophets stopped as the role of the apostles stopped, that also maybe true.
I have no definitive position on this in my own mind. I think sometimes it would be helpful if people
did exercise prophecy more in the congregation, but it appears often not clear how this would actually
work or if people would accept such a ministry.

In these conversations one has to be very careful.
We are all sinners in need of a saviour.
Now after repenting of our sin, being cleansed and purified and trusting in Christ,
the question is can we walk blamelessly.

I answer yes. Peter and Paul expected this was possible.

There is a doctrine in the church called total inability which hold the true nature
of humans means they cannot walk righteously before the Lord even when cleansed by Christ.

This is the disagreement between me and EG.
Hyper grace holds that is you sin once, that is enough to condemn you to hell or loose your
salvation if future sins are not forgiven at the point of coming to faith.

I would hold the victory of the cross is victory over sin and death.
The counter argument is we have diluted sin down to legalism so can fulfill it but are hyprocrites.

The truth is you have to carefully understand what God means by blameless walking to find an
answer. According to Peter the apostle you should expect this.

So let us press on towards the goal given to us in Christ Jesus and walk in holiness.
Do you believe this?

this seems like an old chess board

the players are set up and each one knows what the other one is going to say

I liked the op...once upon a time this morning

this hyper grace stuff seems like a construct of some kind to put the op so far off track that you need a treasure map to find out what it was you were originally talking about

why would someone jump from 'we are a new creation in Christ', which is 100% biblical, and shift into hyper grace which is sounding more and more like some kind of space time jump into a dimension best reserved for gamers

what is going on?

you're pretty perceptive, lady

yes, what is going on is that a few of the players here have been basically having the same "discussion" a few hundred times in a few hundred threads. whether that thread is really about their discussion or not.

did i say welcome to the website yet? i did.
welcome to the "BDF" (bible discussion forum) too hee hee
bring patience, and be quick to forgive! :)

Peter don't answer this....that is between you and the mods as EG says.
Oddly I know who it is between. I was just stating what happened.
And interestingly it was you who accused me of being PM'd by the mods. How would you know,
a word of knowledge or just another false accusation?

These kinds of interactions never end well because the intention is never open only dictatorial.
Agree with our doctrinal position, slander the opposition with malice and lies, and then disappear
when things do not go well.

Another member was commenting on this particular group how consistently they go down this road.
I found muslims used the same approach, and even when they lost they never admitted what had
happened because their internal version was the blindness of the other side made them wrong.

As I stated before if you want to know what they believe here it is.

Either you have been born again and made a new creation in Christ, AND SET FREE FROM THE BONDAGE OF SIN, or you have not.
. . .
Prove your own selves if Christ is truly in you.
Being born again of the Spirit is done by God, as we cannot give birth to ourselves.

then let the One who is responsible for the life in me, for my rebirth, prove me; prove His paternity.

Okay so going through a lot of the comments let's talk about Standing in Christ!!! And what about the flesh? :)

Do we have a sin nature?

Starting with this Scripture here:

Eph 6:12For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.

Someone stated that this Scripture is talking about "other people" as flesh and blood and not our own flesh and blood, but is it really?

Let's look at is as a whole...

Eph 6:10Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might.

This Scripture tells us to be STRONG in the Lord. That means we look at His Strength, His Power in our life. Not at our weaknesses. Every single time we say stuff like, "Oh but we will always struggle with sin" or "We still have that old sin nature" we are not being STRONG in the Lord and His Promises. And we wonder why people struggle? If your words carry the power of life and death, is this speaking life or death? Is this agreeing with God and His promises or with the enemies accusations?

9Proclaim this among the nations:
Consecrate for war;[SUP]c[/SUP]
stir up the mighty men.
Let all the men of war draw near;
let them come up.
10Beat your plowshares into swords,
and your pruning hooks into spears;
let the weak say, “I am a warrior.”

You are a warrior! The Spirit in you is greater than the enemy, you are an overcomer!

Eph 6:11Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil.

Put on the armor of God, is this fleshly armor? NO. This is Spiritual armor so you can stand against the devil.

12For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.

This Scripture shows us the devil's schemes include people, but also spiritual forces. Not just other people, but we don't fight a fleshly battle, but a spiritual one! And we have a spiritual weapons! As we will see... this is how we battle sin.

13Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm. 14Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness,

So our armor is TRUTH. The belt holds everything together. What is this truth that holds everything together? Do you think the truth is that you're a sinner or you're a saint? That you're in Christ and have access to His great precious promises or that you're still waiting for these???

The breastplate is RIGHTEOUSNESS. The breastplate protects the heart, it's a big deal. And His righteousness is YOUR PROTECTION. If you don't believe you're made righteous by Him, how are you going to stand against the enemy? You are righteousness in Christ, this is apart of your new creation reality.

15and, as shoes for your feet, having put on the readiness given by the gospel of peace.

Your shoes, your movement, is the goodness of peace. It keeps you moving. The enemy wants to try to tell you that you don't have peace with God, but your warfare with Him has ended. This is the good news! If you're still trying to have peace with God, put your armor plated shoes on!

1Comfort, comfort my people, says your God.
2Speak tenderly to Jerusalem,
and cry to her
that her warfare[SUP]a[/SUP] is ended,
that her iniquity is pardoned,
that she has received from the Lord’s hand
double for all her sins.

Eph 6:16In all circumstances take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one;

The Shield is what is built to protect us from the enemy's weapons. The enemy uses flaming darts! What do you think these are? These are the things that condemn you, they focus on you instead of who you are in Christ, they say you're just a man, you're not a Son of God, if you were a Son of God turn these stones to bread! (Sound familiar?)

If you are having a lot of attacking thoughts focusing on who you're not instead of who He is, put up your shield! You're in Christ. You're loved. You're free. Run and set other's free!

These are not fleshly fights... this is not with our flesh... we are in the flesh, but we don't war with it.
2 Co 10:2I beg of you that when I am present I may not have to show boldness with such confidence as I count on showing against some who suspect us of walking according to the flesh.

Paul says here that people who think they walk according to the flesh are WRONG.

2 Co 10:3For though we walk in the flesh, we are not waging war according to the flesh.

This Scripture will set you free. Though we walk IN the flesh, we are NOT waging war according to the flesh.

4
For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have divine power to destroy strongholds.

Our spiritual weapons destroy strongholds, so where is the battle???

5We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ,

The battle is IN YOUR HEAD. These are thoughts... that's why the next piece of armor is the helmet.

Eph 6:17and take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God, 18praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication.

The helmet that protects your mind is that you are SAVED. You are delivered! And the SWORD of the Spirit is the Word of God. This is the RHEMA word of God, which means what Holy Spirit is speaking right now, today, every word that proceeds out of His mouth not proceeded out. We gotta have a relationship with the Holy Spirit. He will highlight Scriptures, He will give you what to declare, He will bring life to the letter, He will transform us from the inside out! Use your Sword! Praying all TIMES in the Spirit! We read Scripture with Him as our Teacher!

Each piece of armor and weapon has been given, truth, righteousness, peace, the word, the spirit, and prayer. These are to keep us BUILT UP. To keep us STANDING. Standing in what? Standing in Christ! Make no mistake about it, the battle of your life is for one thing. Your identity.

The enemy doesn't have new schemes. He did the same to Eve and to Jesus.

To Eve: He said to the woman, “Did God actually say, ‘You[SUP]a[/SUP] shall not eat of any tree in the garden’?” 2And the woman said to the serpent, “We may eat of the fruit of the trees in the garden, 3but God said, ‘You shall not eat of the fruit of the tree that is in the midst of the garden, neither shall you touch it, lest you die.’” 4But the serpent said to the woman, “You will not surely die. 5For God knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.”

1. Did God actually say? Did He actually say you were created like Him? If that was true why are you still struggling with sin? You need to fix yourself, have some more religion, focus on what you shouldn't be doing more, it will set you free... because you're not actually already like Him. God knows that if you focus on more knowledge of good and evil, well then you'll be like Him. But He doesn't want that.

But what is the number one thing we are called to be like? HIM! You ARE made in His image. You are in Christ.

And to Jesus: "If You are the Son of God," he said, "throw Yourself down. For it is written: 'He will command His angels concerning You, and they will lift You up in their hands, so that You will not strike Your foot against a stone.'"

Sound familiar??? If you really are in Christ, then you'd do this and this, etc. The Father had just told Jesus you are my Son in whom I'm well pleased and what does the enemy do? Did God actually say you are a Son? If so, prove it. But Jesus didn't react to the enemy's lie out of fear, He responded to God out of faith. We are called to do the same.

You might struggle. And that's okay. Focus on Him. He HAS set you free. And just keep remembering His promises, renew your mind to what He says! Keep that helmet on! Remember your righteousness! You have peace with God keep moving! Stay in relationship with the Spirit! Cast down any thought that says you are NOT who God says you are. You are in Christ! You are set free! And you are an overcomer. Use your spiritual weapons and STAND in Him.

C.

P.S. On the topic of your fleshly body. Offer your body as a living sacrifice.

Romans 12:Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God--this is your true and proper worship.

The flesh DOES NOT control you. You can offer it to God as a living sacrifice.

Tried to give you a 'rep' but it said I had to spread rep around. Well worth reading and every believer should be learning more about this. Of all the topics on CC forums., I'm most interested in this topic about who we are IN Christ because it shows both new believers and old ones how to have a Biblical., truthful.,real.,meaningful.., successful joyful walk in Christ.

Knowing how to "be" a believer is spelled out IN the Bible but as we can see here by the many opposing opinions, not all will believe. It is all about Jesus Christ and His finished work in our redemption because of God's love for us. It is not how 'we' perform that gets us "IN" with God. It is all about Jesus and it will always be about Jesus. If anyone teaches anything but Jesus Christ and His love as a foundation., they are not teaching the truth from God's Word.

As I read the posts, it's such a waste reading about someones ideas and thoughts and speculations and human reasoning. We can do that allllll day as people. But it will do no good when it comes to seeing Jesus the Author and Finisher of our faith. The truth is not what we feel., the truth is fact and we have to separate the facts from the feelings or it's all just 'filler' in our lives. People can be sincere but people are sincerely wrong every day all the time.

We are called to study the Bible taking verse after verse and allowing the Holy Spirit to put the truths beautifully together in harmony. The love of God IN Christ is foundational. The security of knowing the Love of Christ and growing in the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ is the key to all of the other truths.

If anyone seeks to take the love of God in Christ and minimize it we can't listen to them. The knowledge of the love of God IN Christ is so important that the enemy of our souls tries to make it a simple and silly thing that only sissies delve into. Nothing could be further from the truth. The love of God IN Christ is the most powerful weapon for us to hold onto. And yet it is hardly given it's due.

God's Word is clear about what happens without God's love directing us in our lives everything else is worthless and amounts to nothing. All the works done in the name of God don't matter if a person has no working knowledge of the love of God IN Christ. Knowing who we are IN Christ is KNOWING about LOVE. Herein is love., NOT THAT WE LOVE GOD BUT THAT HE LOVES US... The only way to DO the love of God is to KNOW the love of God. We need a 'WORKING KNOWLEDGE' of His love for us in order to love Him and others. His love IS the standard. Not our ideas about what love is. The only way to attain this love is IN Christ. We love Him because He first loved us and sent His Son to BE the propitiation for our sins.

[SUP]10 [/SUP]In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation [that is, the atoning sacrifice, and the satisfying offering] for our sins [fulfilling God’s requirement for justice against sin and placating His wrath].

When I read posts here., if someone is lacking in the encouraging and enforcing of this kind of love., I know they can't help anyone and actually need help themselves. If someone is not secure and grounded in the love of Christ and are seeking to point others away from the good news of the Gospel of grace and truth I know they are in need of help themselves.

This is how we know we are Christians., by the love we know God has for us IN Christ and the love we have for one another by the spreading of this kind of love. Seeking to give other believers a sure foundation in the Love of God IN Christ so they can grow strong IN Christ when they are not with other people.

And also apposing those who would seek to cover the truth of the good news of the Gospel. (that is also important to do) To not allow anyone to cover up the Gospel by reason of working for God's approval and not letting the glorious Gospel of Jesus Christ finished work on the cross shine unto them. HE totally holds us up. (not our works of righteousness that we have done)

1 Cor.13 (amplified)

If I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not [SUP][a][/SUP]love [for others growing out of God’s love for me], then I have become only a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal [just an annoying distraction].

[SUP]2 [/SUP]And if I have the gift of prophecy [and speak a new message from God to the people], and understand all mysteries, and [possess] all knowledge; and if I have all [sufficient] faith so that I can remove mountains, but do not have love [reaching out to others], I am nothing.

[SUP]3 [/SUP]If I give all my possessions to feed the poor, and if I surrender my body [SUP][b][/SUP]to be burned, but do not have love, it does me no good at all.
[SUP]
4 [/SUP]Love endures with patience and serenity, love is kind and thoughtful, and is not jealous or envious; love does not brag and is not proud or arrogant.

[SUP]5 [/SUP]It is not rude; it is not self-seeking, it is not provoked [nor overly sensitive and easily angered]; it does not take into account a wrong endured.

[SUP]6 [/SUP]It does not rejoice at injustice, but rejoices with the truth [when right and truth prevail].

[SUP]7 [/SUP]Love bears all things [regardless of what comes], believes all things [looking for the best in each one], hopes all things [remaining steadfast during difficult times], endures all things [without weakening].
[SUP]
8 [/SUP]Love never fails [it never fades nor ends]. But as for prophecies, they will pass away; as for tongues, they will cease; as for the gift of special knowledge, it will pass away.

[SUP]9 [/SUP]For we know in part, and we prophesy in part [for our knowledge is fragmentary and incomplete].

[SUP]10 [/SUP]But when that which is complete and perfect comes, that which is incomplete and partial will pass away.

[SUP]11 [/SUP]When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child; when I became a man, I did away with childish things.

[SUP]12 [/SUP]For now [in this time of imperfection] we see in a mirror dimly [a blurred reflection, a riddle, an enigma], but then [when the time of perfection comes we will see reality] face to face. Now I know in part [just in fragments], but then I will know fully, just as I have been fully known [by God].

[SUP]13 [/SUP]And now there remain: faith [abiding trust in God and His promises], hope [confident expectation of eternal salvation], love [unselfish love for others growing out of God’s love for me], these three [the choicest graces]; but the greatest of these is love.

John 1:
[SUP]12 [/SUP]But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: [SUP]13 [/SUP]who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

You are given the right, by receiving him.

which takes humility, because you have to admit, your lost..

It is a simple theological point. Do you think Christs victory on the cross means you can know what it is to walk blamelessly before the Lord in communion with Him?

Now many here would say yes, though they do stumble every now and then. This is about not staying as we are sinners but radically changing over time into mature people of God. It appears many do not believe this and openly confess sinful behaviour daily, hourly. The hyper-legalists say doing anything for self is of the flesh so sinful. So eating and drinking is sinful. I do not know their limits or mindset, but it seems like this. They claim they are not under the law, but the real law of Christ, to prove they are sinner saved by grace.

Now this way of denying they are not under condemnation while condemning themselves constantly comes across like OCD and completely unbiblical. Paul exhorts Timothy to live a life above reproach in purity and holiness. So Pauls view is very different than this hyper-legalism.

So I wonder where you are on this discussion. Are you a new creation in victory or defeat?

Blessed are those whose ways are blameless,
who walk according to the law of the Lord.
Blessed are those who keep his statutes
and seek him with all their heart—
they do no wrong
but follow his ways.
You have laid down precepts
that are to be fully obeyed.
Oh, that my ways were steadfast
in obeying your decrees!
Then I would not be put to shame
when I consider all your commands.
I will praise you with an upright heart
as I learn your righteous laws.
I will obey your decrees;
do not utterly forsake me.

Ah, where is CHRIST now?

The ONLY REASON I am a NEW CREATION is because I am (baptized and risen) IN CHRIST.

yes, what is going on is that a few of the players here have been basically having the same "discussion" a few hundred times in a few hundred threads. whether that thread is really about their discussion or not.

Have mercy on me, my God, have mercy on me,
for in you I take refuge.
I will take refuge in the shadow of your wings
until the disaster has passed.
I cry out to God Most High,
to God, who vindicates me.
He sends from heaven and saves me,
rebuking those who hotly pursue me—[c]
God sends forth his love and his faithfulness.
I am in the midst of lions;
I am forced to dwell among ravenous beasts—
men whose teeth are spears and arrows,
whose tongues are sharp swords.
Be exalted, O God, above the heavens;
let your glory be over all the earth.
They spread a net for my feet—
I was bowed down in distress.
They dug a pit in my path—
but they have fallen into it themselves.
