Well, from this person’s understanding, he is right Christians did not pass out Bibles, but every New Testament “Christian” even Y-shua Himself believed in, and preached Torah (the Old Testament).just look at Y-shua in the desert, what did He reply to Satan with but Torah. Y-shua said you believe in Moses now believe also in Me…. "Don't think that I will stand before the Father and say that you are wrong. Moses is the person that says that you are wrong. And Moses is the one that you hoped would save you. If you really believed Moses, you would believe me. Why? Because Moses wrote about me. But you don't believe what Moses wrote. So you cannot believe the things I say." John 5:45-47. AMAZING!!!!
The need for a Messiah had to come from somewhere. Not thin air. The New Testament is proof Y-shua is the Messiah. That’s the Bible. I ask why then would someone even think they need a savior if the Bible was not the infallible, inerrant Word of G-d? to even think you need a savior one must believe Torah, or the New Testament doesn’t matter. But it does matter because the New Testament, along with Torah prove Y-shuahs the Messiah!!!!
The Bible is not hard to interpret or understand. It means what is says and says what it means and because it alive it transcends all time.
Do you have to believe the Bible to be a Christian? No. you must believe Y-shua is Messiah. Can you do that not believing the Bible? Why would you? If the Scripture missed it one point how can it be right on the others? I would ask what is their criteria for picking and choosing what to believe. This is not confusing, unless you don’t really believe the Scripture is the infallible, inerrant Word of G-d yourself.
