Paul said, I try to do right, but I always do what I don't want to!

He said the answer is Jesus!

None of us are without sin, that's why we need Jesus and the Holy Spirit to renew our minds.

We all fall short of God glorious standard.

So let God deal with them!

You do not know a persons heart,

What about the sins you struggle with, do you have a license for them?

Or do you stand before God and repent and trust Him to deliver you?

Who is to say, where there heart is with Jesus either!

We are not to judge, we are to Love.

Love our neighbors as ourselves.
Don't read Romans 7 as a solo entity, read Romans 8 as well. We within ourselves cannot help but to sin, that is why we must walk in the Spirit and not in the flesh.

Yes we are to love all people sinners or saved, but we can see fruit, and we are to know the difference between good trees and corrupt trees, regardless of their confessions.

Just for you watchmen,

Grace teaches us...
This may raise some eyebrows, but a believer can not abuse grace nor use grace to sin. But, he can stop receiving it and stop giving it to others and that could lead to sin. The grace of God teaches us to deny ungodliness and worldly lust and to live soberly, righteously and godly in this present evil world (Titus 2:12). Grace is not given nor does it teach us to live in sin, but is given to keep us from sin and all that is associated with it. However, when we sin or when sin abounds in our life, grace does much more abound (Rom 5:20). We know He does not give us grace to sin but He does give us grace (super abundantly) after we have sinned. Why does He do that? He has to make grace abound toward us so that we will not continue in sin. How does He do that? First, His grace does not condemn us for the sin we are guilty of. Second, His grace convicts us through the Holy Spirit of our sin. Thirdly, He gives us grace to confess the sin, to be cleansed of it and to be turned from it by restoring us completely. If we don't keep receiving grace then we will continue in sin, and that is not using grace to sin, but sin becomes the result of not receiving and continuing in grace. Sin is when we have missed the mark because we did access the grace that we stand in (Rom 5:2, 1Pt 5:12). If it was important for Jesus to have grace upon Him (Luke 2:40) and the disciples with all the believers in (Acts 4:33) had great grace upon them, we can be sure that having grace is very important for all of us as believers. Now we can read the following;

Rom 6:1,2 'What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?

The answer is no, because God forbids it and we are dead to sin. God forbids that we continue in sin that grace may abound because He gives us grace to keep us from sin. A believer can not abuse God's grace to live in sin because God's justice will not let that happen. The believer may think that he can sin and God will be gracious to him and forgive him, and that is true, but what God won't do is let that believer use His grace to sin or continue in sin. If you don't believe that then wait and see what He does to the believer if he continues to sin. That is when God begins to chastise that believer (which can be very grievous) not to punish them but to get them back and rightly related to His grace. When we are receiving the goodness of God's grace we are never encouraged to live in something we are dead to through the cross. If you see your brother sin, you who are spiritual (one that is receiving God's grace) go in meekness and restore your brother through the grace you have received from God and not through condemnation by exposing his sin. Remember (Rom 8:1) that there in no condemnation and that love covers a multitude of sins (James 5:20, 1Pt 4:8, Prov17:9).

Sound doctrine is anything and everything that comprises the teachings of the Apostles in the books of the Gospel; anything and everything that is found in the Creeds.

Sound doctrine is actually found most easily in APOSTOLIC CREEDS such as the Nicene Creed, the Apostles Creed. Creeds were written to summarize the essentials of Christian faith. The Creed certainly expresses beliefs found in the NT. But often those beliefs in the NT are not clearly expressed inasmuch as they were not generally written to teach specific theology, and were written over a long period of time by different authors addressing different situations. Nothing in a Creed contradicts the bible, rather it elucidates what is found in the bible, connecting thoughts and placing articles of faith in a concise summary.

The Nicene Creed expresses so well the bare minimum of belief which comprises a Christian:

1. The Trinity
2. Jesus as the Son of God begotten by the Father
3. Jesus born of Mary
4. Jesus rose from the dead
5. Jesus will come again to judge the living and the dead
6.God's kingdom will have no end
7. The Holy Spirit proceeds from the Father and the Son, is God
8. Belief in the Resurrection of the dead
One has to wonder what "agreement" is being done and who with before anyone starts defending the creeds. The good fight is keeping the faith.. not defending the creeds.

As much as I have been made familiar by the Apostles Creed, it is an agreement with the RCC and such the wordings in it are circumspect for anyone in the world to be reading it as Protestant agreeing with the one Catholic church.

The Nicene creed has the Holy Spirit as the Giver of Life and to be worshipped with the Father and the Son whereas scriptures says Jesus is the bread of life that giveth life to the world and the Holy Spirit does not seek to be worshipped in the place of worship as He is in us to lead us to honour the Son by testifying of the Son to glorify the Son, and thereby the Father as well.

So the creeds are deceptive... as one believer has stated that a cult is someone that gives nine truths and slips in one lie, we can see many lies in the RCC that the Protestant churches should know better than to be identified with the RCC of its creeds done in ecumenical format.

2 Corinthians 6:14Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?

15And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel?
16And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.
17Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you. 18And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.

The funny thing is the OSAS believers also love the authorized KJV version, which afterall, was written by and for a non-OSAS believing organisation, the Church of England. Anglicans believe you can lose your salvation. Maybe the OSAS proponents should make their own bible translation? Or they should probably be using Calvin's bibles instead.
calvin believed in predestination, you couldn't even say that you wanted to trust God God said before time begin you are in or you are out, also he was kicked out of Chruch because he belief that only psalms should be used in church, we would not be able to sing Amazzing Grace in Church if it had been up to Calvin, I don't see how you think I being once saved always saved would follow calvinist veiw. I ask God one day I said God can I walk away from your salvation and God said:

Ps 118:1O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good: because his mercy ENDURETH for ever.

The major issues Paul had to deal with were..

Jesus as the sole means of salvation
Practicing parts of the law to merit salvation
Gnostism

A few others I can't name.

I'd say any doctrine that attempts to strike blows to core issues, like salvation, the authority of God's word, the need to live for God after salvation (yes I'm osas and I said that..)Jesus coming back, the deity of Christ. Any teaching that attempts to attack those core issues should be corrected.

Now if some teaching doesn't agree with your pet, non-core, non-essential issue, you really should just keep your powder dry and save your ammo for better fights.

I agree with you, Stilly. I'm trying to learn the "save your ammo" part. Thanks for the reminder.

What I would like to know is just how many around CC can honestly say that they have received divine revelation from God concerning scripture or are they simply parroting doctrinal ideas that they have picked up from a pastor or a book.

I wasn't referring to you Thaddeus just making a general observation about holding the KJV up to be the only true bible translation and yet not believing in the same doctrines which the authors of the KJV believed in.
