It's really funny how we get things twisted around.

I have a busy few days here. Yesterday, after work, I had to go to a banquet honoring a co-worker and close friend. Today, I had to get up early to take 130 students across town to play a concert, and then bring them back for a cookout to reward them. I have two more contests to take different bands to on Tuesday and Wednesday. A pep rally on Friday, another concert the week after to finish the year.

You could say I'm a little tied up.

(Also, to reward the kids who fundraised a particular chunk of dough, their reward was getting to duct-tape me to a pole. Stayed like that for a good half hour.)

I admit, I'm exhausted. Feels like too much to do, sometimes. But in reality, the paragraph really goes like this:

I have a blessed few days here. Yesterday, after a paying job, I got to eat a great meal and not be hungry with wonderful friends. Today, I got to go to work BECAUSE I HAVE A JOB with students who enjoy playing music, and because they work hard and fundraise, I could bless them with lots of food and fun. On Tuesday and Thursday, I have two more opportunities to demonstrate the gifts the Lord has blessed me with. After that, my students will use their talents to bless others at various times, because it brings them joy to do so.

Working hard? You bet.
Worn out? Sure.
Need sleep? Most definitely.

Got a job? You bet.
Eating well? Sure.
Have a warm, safe place to sleep? Most definitely.

Lord, You are good, and Your mercies endure forever!

What you said, is so true. Sometimes we get so busy with day to day life that we forget to see the blessings that God gave us. Sometimes even the simplest things, like food, shelter, and warmth, are overlooked because we are too busy. We as a people need to slow down and see the wonderful things God has done for us.
