Amazing Grace- have you ever taken the time to really find the beauty in the words?

Amazing Grace is one of my favorite songs. It has such a special place in my heart for a few reasons. It helped to bring me out of a dark hole, on more than one occasion. Another significance is how I have continually messed up, but I know that Im washed clean time after time. When I think of the song, I think of a tunnel, with a faint glow- hardly visible, at the very end. But each day the light gets brighter and bigger. He lifts me up and the light represents the hope that I have in Him. To all of us it may represent something slightly different, but for the most part it represents how only God's Grace is sufficient for man. We can cling to the fact that no matter what we do, we are His children, and when we fall He picks us up and makes us clean.

This is what each line means to me: (yea ive left out some verses I only know 4 stanzas heh)

Amazing Grace

Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound, (God's Grace, nothing compares)
That saved a wretch like me. (For it's sufficient for even a sinner as me)
I once was lost but now am found, (It gave me direction)
Was blind, but now I see. (When all was dark it brought light and hope)

T'was Grace that taught my heart to fear. (His grace, I am forever in His debt)
And Grace, my fears relieved. (By the same grace, I find security)
How precious did that Grace appear (How it delivered me)
The hour I first believed. (The moment I opened my heart)

Through many dangers, toils and snares (Many of life's trials)
I have already come; (I've endured)
'Tis Grace that brought me safe thus far (But only His grace has brought me comfort)
and Grace will lead me home. (For one day He will bring me home)

When we've been here ten thousand years (As old as the world is)
Bright shining as the sun. (As old as the sun is)
We've no less days to sing God's praise (I will give Him thanks)
Than when we've first begun. (From now till the end of time)

I honestly cannot think of anyone who does not like that hymn.
The old hymns are beautiful I love the words but the new ones I do not like at all.

I would love to be able to sing but they say whatever made us, made crows as well as nightingales.

Just my luck to be one of the crows
