Are we ready to the day of the Lord? How is our expectance of it?

• Amo 5:18-20 -> “Woe to you who desire the day of the LORD! Why would you have the day of the LORD? It is darkness, and not light, as if a man fled from a lion, and a bear met him, or went into the house and leaned his hand against the wall, and a serpent bit him. Is not the day of the LORD darkness, and not light, and gloom with no brightness in it?”.

It’s important to love the coming of Jesus:

• 2Ti 4:8 -> “Henceforth there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will award to me on that day, and not only to me but also to all who have loved his appearing.

Nevertheless, why do many followers of Christ wish this? Since the time of Noah and “Sodom and Gomorrah” that people cries for the destruction of the enemies (and even for the end of the world):

• Gen 6:13 -> “And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth.”.
• Gen 18:20,21 -> “And the LORD said, Because the cry of Sodom and Gomorrah is great, and because their sin is very grievous; I will go down now, and see whether they have done altogether according to the cry of it, which is come unto me; and if not, I will know.”.

However, if it was for the Creator obliterate all evil, it wasn’t necessary to create this world. After all, He knew forehand all that would take place. I know that, when we are undergoing some predicament or ordeal, is painful this process. However, the process is so important than the aftermath.

What we need is to find out (from the Creator) the reason for which we are undercoming what we are suffering (remember that, except for the sin, nothing more can set us apart from Him).

Most important than this: we need to trust Jesus that He has His plan, what is always beneficial to everyone who loves Him:

• Jer 29:11 -> “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.”.
• Rom 8:28 -> “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.”.
• Rom 10:12 -> “For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him.”.
• Psa 145:18 -> “The LORD is nigh unto all them that call upon him, to all that call upon him in truth.”.

It’s suffice to read in Revelation all the wonders that He projected for His Church (read Rev 21-22:1-5).

So, have a miraculous day biding for the day of the Lord, not to get free of the hot potatoes, but to stir you up to make of your life a good example to be followed.
