"For I know the plans
I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Jer. 29:11

Lots of people around the world struggle financially to provide for their families. Some of us only feel as though we are struggling financially because we cannot keep up with our neighbors.

But if you truly struggle to provide for your family's basic needs, consider a few possible reasons that your finances are not blessed. How are you using the money you do have? Are you:

  • Using money to perpetuate sin
  • Failing to use your income wisely
  • Refusing to be generous with your money

You may never do these things yet still struggle. There is no formula for financial blessing since God does not rely on formulas but on His wisdom according to unique circumstances. He is an amazing and mysterious wonder to be held in awe. The best we can do is observe His ways and apply His Word in our lives.

Lord, forgive us all the times we use money to perpetuate our sin, fail to use our income wisely, and refuse to be generous with the money You have entrusted to us. Help us to conform to Christ and allow Him to lead us in our finances. In Christ's Name, Amen.

I agree, and God can use the lack of money or the withholding of the same to teach us to put off our consumption, purchases and financial undertakings to wait on Him or just simply leave the idea. He may also use it to teach us contentment, trust, and patience. :)
