Scripture teaches that it is only through abiding / walking in the Spirit that we can overcome come sin and self in this life making God's grace is His divine invitation to come abide in Him. Grace is vehicle which leads us into God's presence and only through partaking in Him can we live a holy life. It is the indwelling Spirit of Christ himself who is not only our salvation but also our righteousness and sanctification, none of which can be obtained without abiding in Him. This is why we are told to "work out our salvation (or ABIDE DAILY) with fear and trembling" less we find ourselves deep in self and far from God.
Our sin is nothing more than the result / evidence of our failure to abide / fellowship with the indwelling Spirit of Christ. Anyone who indulges in a lifestyle of sin grieves the Holy Spirit because they have clearly rejected God's grace, which again is God's invitation to abide in Him, and have willingly walked away from God where victory can be found. This is why an unrepentant homosexual, adulterer, or whatever sinful lifestyle you want to list, can not be partakers of the grace of God because their sin is the evidence of their rejection of such grace.
Grace is the means in which God intends for us to be holy through Him. Authentic grace always leads to holiness not more sin.
