I remember seeing a news report from a disaster site, a hurricaine had destroyed a whole neighborhood. A woman stood in front of the camera saying ' How could God do this?' she went on to say that her life was over, her home destroyed, her belongings gone, she could not afford to re- build...she sobbed.Her distress was real, a horrible event had happened and affected her deeply. Turn camera to another woman, another street, she was distraught too, standing amidst the ruins of her home. But she looked into the camera and said ' Thank God we are alive, no one died, we are safe. I have no idea how we will sort this out but we have each other, we will be ok, we will pull together, its a miracle no one was hurt, thank God for that.' I was not a Christian when I saw this news report but I have never forgotten it, it affected me at the time. I felt for both women standing in the ruins of their homes but I wanted what the second woman had!! It is so easy to declare we love the Lord and He loves us, but beware what we are building our 'love' on because if it is not on a sure foundation, we will simply crumble when the going gets tough. AND the going will, one day, for all of us, get tough. We are not all able to go off to Africa to spread the good news, some of us, many of us, are called to spread the good news right here on this chat room!! Because people come here who do not know Christ and they are searching. Let them find the Christians who are dealing with life in power! Not defeated, dwelling on what is going wrong. As redeemed, saved and forgiven children of God, we do not walk defeated. We walk knowing He walks with us and calls us to obedience to His will. What should we do? Go to the Word, pray and FROG through the dark times....Fully Rely On God. When we do, we will be a light in the darkness, not more darkness in the dark!! Times can be distressing, I, like many here have had my dark times but it is in standing on Gods promises that we get through. Not on mans explanations. Easy to sing His praises in the sunshine but it is in our darkest hours, that we can FRoG and be the witness He calls us to be. <><

such a wonderful story!! I also realized that sometimes as Christians we forget who we are and who makes us what we are. Whatever we see on earth will at one time go, it is a matter of time. It is only God that everyone should yearn for bse for Him is the beginning and the End.

Amen! It's easy to praise God and believe He is there for us when things are going good, but when disaster strikes, that's when we need to believe God is there the most. God is ALWAYS with us, through it all, thick and thin, good and bad. And believe me, without Him the bad would be SO much worse!

He never promised a trouble free life with Him, He promised LIFE with Him.
