"Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me." --Psalm 51:10

As Christians, we all want to be free from the burdens we are carrying around and simply to have a "clean heart" as mentioned in Psalm 51:10. The problem is we don't know what steps to take to get a clean heart. Some of us know we have burdens, but we do not know the cause of the burden or how to get freedom from it. Take a minute to examine what might be causing your burdens:

  • a need to give or ask for forgiveness to God or another person
  • taking up the burdens of others (fixing their problems especially to avoid dealing with your own
  • a poor attitude or outlook on life

Lord, I pray You would help us to identify our burdens and cast those cares at Your feet. Almighty God, You are the answer! Create in us a clean spirit and renew a right spirit within us. In Christ's Name, Amen.
