He speaks of his former relationship
"Don't forget, I was a father"...

He describes lightly the tasks of de-escalating, bathing, setting boundaries, and nurturing his former son with a major developmental disorder; as well as the boy's older siblings. The depth, though evasive, is not mistaken. He is broken inside from his loss of these things. It is all so significant.

He supported her for five years so that she could attend nursing school and then return herself to her abuser. He used and discarded and, of course, there is always another perspective; but I am more interested in his story because of the relevance.

He is not a religious person. He does not understand how fascinating a relationship with a creator, a savior; the One of Purpose is...he is lost in this sense.

Nonetheless, I have not met anyone who expresses such genuine compassion. Never.

I have known many men who preach and teach, and The Word is on their lips, but in the end, the facade is flimsy....

I have traveled to another land under the delusion that a man who presented himself to be after God's heart was genuine. I have gone great lengths for these types...

Ultimately, the humility that this man I speak of that has been shown me thus far, outweighs any praying, naming and claiming, evangelical martyr to date.

The heart of Christ is mysterious.
