Several years ago our Ministry was going the best time it had ever seen. We had just been blessed with a cash gift that was enough to pay a down payment on a 10,000 sqft. building and enough left over to remodel it for our use!!! WOW things were going so good then BAM!!! , out of no where a tragedy struck. I was involved in a freak accident that broke both of my legs just below the knees. I had surgery to fix them and was laid up in a hospital bed for several weeks. I was devastated that God had allowed something like that to happen to ME !!! During that time I heard God tell me Be still and know that I am God. so I shut up my gripping and complaining and started listing. Not only did He give me strength to go through all the pain and down time, He gave me more Love and Compassion for others. When that happen I was healed weeks before the Doctors thought I would be and did not even need to go through even one day of therapy. So my mess became my message and I am a much better Pastor now by going through the weakness and letting God's Power take over.
9 But He said to me, My grace (My favor and loving-kindness and mercy) is enough for you [sufficient against any danger and enables you to bear the trouble manfully]; for My strength and power are made perfect (fulfilled and completed) and show themselves most effective in [your] weakness. Therefore, I will all the more gladly glory in my weaknesses and infirmities, that the strength and power of Christ (the Messiah) may rest (yes, may pitch a tent over and dwell) upon me!
10 So for the sake of Christ, I am well pleased and take pleasure in infirmities, insults, hardships, persecutions, perplexities and distresses; for when I am weak [in human strength], then am I [truly] strong (able, powerful in divine strength).
