...Do not say: I am [only] a youth...
Jeremiah 1:7 (HCSB)
Put yourself in Jeremiah's shoes for a minute. God has appointed you to a prophet unto the nations (Jeremiah 1:5). Yet, you are a young person who feels inadequate to serve the Lord. Do you make an excuse like Jeremiah does in Jeremiah 1:6, or do you boldly declare by faith that you will do what God has called you to do?
When we make an excuse as to why we cannot serve the Lord, we are saying that the Lord does not know what He is doing and that He has made a huge mistake in calling us. However, we know that God never makes a mistake. So, we should be able to be like Isaiah (Isaiah 6) who said, "Here am I, Lord. Send me!"
God can work in, with, and through any of His children (including us). We simply need to be willing. I encourage you to seek the Lord's guidance as to what He wants you to do with your life. Then, pray that God will enable you to fulfill that calling. Believe me, you will be glad you did.
May God bless you today and every day!
