Friendship; another word that meant so much and now so little. Friendship once meant loyalty, love, compassion, trust. When you had a friendship with someone, you stuck by them when they needed you. Which now days does not happen very often. You helped your friend's before yourself. Now when I think of friendship I think of distrust, abondonment, and a lack of commitment. Your friends used to be the people you could trust when you couldn't trust your family. The thought of what some individuals consider friendship makes me sick. People who consider themselves friends now days, will turn there back on you, to save theres. They will throw you away like a crumpled piece of paper. Friendship is truly hard to find but, when you do be grateful.

I've been disappointed and let down by so many "friends" in my lifetime that I tend to keep people at arm's length now and don't allow anyone to become too close. I prefer quality rather than quantity with friendships. It is my experience that it's a case of "what you can do for me" rather than "what can I do for you" or "what can we do for each other". Friends should be there for each other period but it a sign of today's throw away society that when you have served your purpose you get discarded.

Do I sound cynical? I'm not really, just years of experience have taught me this.
