Psalm 130:3-4 (N.L.T)
Lord, if you kept a record of our sins,
who, O Lord, could ever survive?
But you offer forgiveness,
that we might learn to fear you.
This passage taken from psalm 130 shows us the mercy of God; if it had not been for the Lord blotting out our sins and placing as far as the east is from the west(psalm 103:12), we would not be able to stand before him to lift a hand.
it does not matter how Righteous we think we are, and how many things we have done that are morally correct in the eyes of the world, all have sinned and have fallen short of the Glory of God (Romans 3:23).
and God has been merciful to us all. He makes the sun rise on the Good and on the Evil and sends rain on the Just and on the unjust (Matt 5:45).
He forgives sin, offering forgiveness to one and all.
The forgiveness of God, oh how amazing it is and indeed we should Respect and Honor him as he also calls us to forgives others.
I thank God for His Grace towards us. The Lord is compassionate and merciful,
slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love.
"He will not constantly accuse us,
nor remain angry forever.
He does not punish us for all our sins;
he does not deal harshly with us, as we deserve.
For his unfailing love toward those who fear him
is as great as the height of the heavens above the earth.
He has removed our sins as far from us
as the east is from the west.
The Lord is like a father to his children,
tender and compassionate to those who fear him.
For he knows how weak we are;
he remembers we are only dust". (Psalm 103:8-14)
