HearHim!

I´ve seen life. I saw how I was and how some were, before falling onour knees, while sick in bed or surrendered to be alive. My Dad faced cancer. He thought it was “God´s punishment”, while I tried to explain it was asimple consequence of his tobacco addiction. He said, more than once: “Whyme, God?” and I myself have said that, more than once and -when notblaming God- I was telling He wasn´t loving me, as if I love Himmore than He loves me. (Forgiveus,Lord! We are so selfish and self-centered). I loved and liked my dad. He wasn´t the one I would have liked, atthe beginning, but time and my being grown up helped me to be his friend as Ifelt he was for me. For personal reasons I left him and turned away, before hedie. Let´s say I tried to explain who Jesus Christ was, but I could not see hisconversion and his turning away from sin. He has his own dreams, like anybodyelse, and I know God showed him his fate because he told me one of hisnightmares, before any doctor knew he was sick with cancer so -one way oranother- God spoke to him. Recently I briefly wrote something on I Jn.5:19. I said I disagreewith such idea or thought, that I had to agree with the Pauline writing ofEphesians 6:12. He! He! I don´t have a full understanding ondeity, but I have chosen to believe in Jesus rather than believing in any otherman. There are so many ideas, tendencies, that I chose to follow mine thanfailing using other´s: There´s no one else to blame! Innerly we are at war. Ideas or desires battle to govern our lifeand when we feel at ease with us, we make the decision to live with a strangewe have married and she pushes the other side we´re pulling. He! He! That´s the price of being loved. Matt 4:10 and 4:4 are two leading ideas I have to keep in mind tofollow. No matter what other say, no matter what other sing in their songs. Godis God, my Lord, and no matter what I think or could do, and Satan himself wasreminded he has to worship and serve God (Matt. 4:10). Let me compare Matt. 4:4 with those of Luke 12:17-20. Who is incharge then? I can plant my seeds and when I have toilet and worked, I see badseeds growing first. Who owns this soil? Who has the right to remove andutterly destroy? I´m thankful God gave me the chance to work and be part of Hisworldwide job. Fatality comes any day. Rich or poor, there are things I cannotchange and there is the account of Job (Job1:21, 2:10).I could live like any poor man on earth and the word of God refreshes me eachday, because I do not live on bread alone. Will I fall to worship things? WillI fall to follow Satan´s ways? Jesus clearly shows who His Father is, the ONE who rules. Ican say, with the Lord and Saviour: “Thy kingdom come, thy will bedone ON EARTH as it is in heaven” (Matt 6:10) but Imust admit there is a war in me, and it should be acknowledged the worldbattles against you and me too. Be aware Satan has people on his side, evilspirits and bad ideas being sung -and done- by men and women: That´s why Ihate salsa music (vallenato, merengue...) No matter Christianmusicians have changed its words or message! That musicis too sensual, and some couples are blind to see it tends to be used to“socialize” the woman (or man) each has won and, by liking it (hearing ordancing it) many have emotionally (sexually) shared the partner God hadgiven them to be married (I won´t dance it privately). I neverliked salsa music! I danced it in my youth. I´ve tried to like it, morethan once (togroove, to belong in the nation I was born) but I hateit. He!He! You may see -here- I´m drifting, but I held these ideas fordecades, and I don´t mind saying it aloud. Have you lived those days when JohnTravolta was so popular when dancing his “Saturday night disco fever”? I hated those days too. I may like Disco or Rock music, but I became reluctant to followother´s fashions or “socializing” messages. Who cares? Just those who know there are thievesstealing and breaking in (Matt. 6:19). As long as I live, I commit myself to worship God and serve Himonly. I won´t live by bread alone, but just by each of His words (Matt4:4) and I do want to hear Him personally. A.T. July 2013 P.S. Some may find my predicament as nonsense, folly, distantfrom faith and from whatever thing you may alsothink of. I may say that “Gaby” -yesterday- told me “she is visual”, shelikes to see things, perhaps written. Dr Pilar Sordo has studied humanbehavior and have given people some of her ideas and research, and also Paul-the Jewish Rabi Shaul- wrote “faith comes by hearing”. Nowonder we are invited to have His holy word before our head, attached to ourarms or hands and at any place of the house to meditate, to talk about itand to think of it. Those who have had that faith lived and have had enoughprivate experiences, they have learned from them, and utterly lived it up toits deeper meaning.
