The high priest serves as a mediator between God & the people. Jesus is the eternal NT High Priest

Heb 3:
1 Wherefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our profession, Christ Jesus;

2 Who was faithful to him that appointed him, as also Moses was faithful in all his house.
(MY NOTE: Christ & Moses were faithful servants/administrators of God's house)

3 For this man was counted worthy of more glory than Moses, inasmuch as he who hath builded the house hath more honour than the house.
(MY NOTE: Jesus our Creator God is greater then His faithful servant Moses.)

5 And Moses verily was faithful in all his house, as a servant, for a testimony of those things which were to be spoken after;
(MY NOTE: Moses a faithful administrator/servant in God’s house. Was a foreshadowing testimony of the coming superior administration of Christ)

Heb 4:
14 Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession..
(MY NOTE: We need to tenaciously place our absolute trust/faith in our resurrected great High Priest, Savior & God, Jesus the Christ.)

16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.
(MY NOTE: Thru faith placed in Jesus death & resurrection we receive the privilege to confidently approach the Father in prayer)

Heb 5:
5 So also Christ glorified not himself to be made an high priest; but he that said unto him, Thou art my Son, to day have I begotten thee.
(MY NOTE: God the Father appointed Christ eternal high Priest [mediator between God & all] within our realm/universe)

6 As he saith also in another place, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedek
(MY NOTE: Christ High Priesthood appointment is eternal/forever)

Heb 6:
19 Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which entereth into that within the veil;
(MY NOTE: Christ our Rock/unbreakable/unmovable, no matter what pressure bears upon Him, has entered into heavens temple)

20 Whither the forerunner is for us entered, even Jesus, made an high priest for ever after the order of Melchisedek.
(MY NOTE: Christ our High Priest HAS ALREADY entered heaven as our eternal mediator/advocate with the Father)

Heb 7:
11 If therefore perfection were by the Levitical priesthood, (for under it the people received the law,) what further need was there that another priest should rise after the order of Melchisedek, and not be called after the order of Aaron?
(MY NOTE: Christs BETTER eternal Priesthood REPLACED the Levitical priesthood given under Mosaic Law)

12 For the priesthood being changed, there is made of necessity a change also of the law.
(MY NOTE: A CHANGE priesthood requires a CHANGE in LAW)

21 (for those Levites who formerly became priests [received their office] without [its being confirmed by the taking of] an oath, but this One [was designated] with an oath through the One who said to Him, “The Lord has sworn And will not change His mind or regret it, ‘You (Christ) are a Priest forever’”).

22 (For those priests were made without an oath; but this with an oath by him that said unto him, The Lord sware and will not repent, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedek).
(MY NOTE: Christ's new covenant Priesthood administration is superior to & has REPLACED FOREVER the OT man administered sacrificial covenant system)

24 But this man, because he continueth ever, hath an unchangeable priesthood.

25 Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.

26 For such an high priest became us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and made higher than the heavens;

27 Who needeth not daily, as those high priests, to offer up sacrifice, first for his own sins, and then for the people's: for this he did once, when he offered up himself.

28 For the law maketh men high priests which have infirmity; but the word of the oath, which was since the law, maketh the Son, who is consecrated for evermore.
(MY NOTE: Christ's new covenant Priesthood administration is superior to & has REPLACED FOREVER the old covenant system)

Heb 8:
6 But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises.
(MY NOTE: Christ is the Mediator/Arbiter of a BETTER new ETERNAL covenant)

13 In that he saith, A new covenant, he hath made the first old. Now that which decayeth and waxeth old is ready to vanish away.
(MY NOTE: Christs new covenant sin management supersedes, nullifies & renders the old covenant sin management obsolete)

Heb 9:
Which was a figure for the time then present, in which were offered both gifts and sacrifices, that could not make him that did the service perfect, as pertaining to the conscience;
(MY NOTE: Physical/temporal men that administered the Levitical sin management system. Are inferior to the NEW eternal Spiritual administrator/Christ)

10 Which stood only in meats and drinks, and divers washings, and carnal ordinances, imposed on them until the time of reformation.

11 But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building;
(MY NOTE: Our risen new covenant High Priest entered heavens perfect Temple, made without hands)

12 Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us].
(MY NOTE: Our risen High Priest entered heavens temple. With sinless, perpetually cleansing blood, obtaining/securing eternal redemption for every believer)

15 For this reason He is the Mediator and Negotiator of a new covenant [that is, an entirely new agreement uniting God and man], so that those who have been called [by God] may receive [the fulfillment of] the promised eternal inheritance, since a death has taken place [as the payment] which redeems them from the sins committed under the obsolete first covenant.
(MY NOTE: Our new covenant High Priest mediation redeems eternally. And is far superior to the now OBSOLETE old covenant.)

16 For where a testament is, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator
(MY NOTE: The new covenant couldn't begin until Christ had died & rose.0

24 For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us:
(MY NOTE: The old Mosaic/Levitical temporal covenant was a shadow of the NEW ETERNAL Christ mediated/administered covenant)

28 So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation..
(MY NOTE: Christ's perfect sinless perpetual cleansing sacrificial God blood, one time needed sin offering: Conquered/completely destroyed sins death grip administered through old Mosaic covenant law ordinances)
