So I'm in Lacey, WA right now with some friends, and they just took me out for one of the best days of my life. I've spent most of the day with a huge grin perma-plastered to my face. When I'm feeling down about my situation, the Lord always puts the right people around me to lift me up.

We probably spent close to three hours in the LeMay Museum of Cars. I'd have paid triple the admission just to see the one car that I've always wanted to see: a Tucker Torpedo. (Other candidate that was not present? First gen gullwing SL.) I mean, the place was a four story parking garage overflowing with automotive history. My digital camera was on the verge of catching fire, it was working so hard.

For lunch - Thai food! They've been super-accommodating of my dietary needs so far (the summer of keto soldiers on!), but I just had to cheat a little. Thai Tom's is an AMAZING hole-in-the-wall in the university area, run by actual Thais. I asked for my larp gai to be made pert-mark-mark...and holy COW...My eyes may have started to bleed at one point, and for a good chunk of the meal, I was seeing stars. Sooooooo good. And the khao niao mamuang!!!! OMGOMGOMGOMG Beffanee had never had the stuff, and she was blown away. For me, it was definitely a visit to childhood.

Aaaaand the clincher: an indoor karting track, where the carts reach 40 mph and require full-face helmets. BEST. KARTS. EVAR. I could have spent all day in there. The course was the right balance of long, high-speed straights, and tight, technical turns, and would probably scare most people out of their minds.

I didn't ask for any of these activities. In fact, I have no clue what there is to do up here. But my friends, my loving friends, who know me, for no reason other than that they're my friends, knew how to put together just about the most perfect day they could have for me.

I am so very, VERY blessed.
