I absolutely love Sundays! I always come away from church feeling renewed, ready to start the week, full of thoughts, and a hunger for more of God's word. Today, was no exception! A comment was made in Sunday School, that often times when we mess up we feel God is done with us. That He will not want to give us a second change, we just mess up too much! I feel this has much to do with our human/flesh side and the fact that when we mess up other people in our life may not forgive us or they give up on us, because to them we mess up too much, or we messed up big time.
I like others feel like sometimes I have messed up too much, or that my mistake was too big to be forgiven. However, I am reminded that God does give His forgiveness, His grace swallows us, and His mercies are new every morning. One thing I have realized in life is God has given me a wonderful mother. Although all humans fail other humans, and people let us down, my mom is was of the greatest women of faith I know. She is also a constant reminder to me that even when we mess us, God is still there and forgives us. He loves us unconditionally! How does she do this? By the way she lives, that is her example. I have been through some pretty tough times, people have let me down, I have let others down. I have had people walk out of my life because of choices and mistakes I have made, but my mom has always stuck by me. She hasn't always agreed with my choices, so hasn't condoned my mistakes, but she has loved me no matter what, she hasn't left me, and she has prayed for me. With a mom like her, I'm always reminded that when I mess up, like her, God will never stop loving me and he will never stop love me. The great news? He will never stop loving or forgiving you either. God gives second chances, when you ask His forgiveness, He cast those sins in a lake, and puts up a no fishing sign.
Today we sang this song "At The Cross" by Hillsong. I want to leave you with a couple of the lines...and whenever you might make a mistake or have messed up, look up this song and spend some time in prayer, because God does care and He wants to heal our hearts!
