It is so easy for us to lose sight of who we are- in Christ, if we do not see ourselves as God sees us. Satan, the devil, will use anything at his disposal to confuse us and cause a spiritual identity crisis amongst Christians. Consider any confusion about who you are in Christ a spiritual attack from the enemy; for God is not the author of confusion(1Corinth.14:33).
The devil wants us to think that we evolved from some cosmic hiccup in the universe; when we have been created in the image and after the likeness of God, The Creator (Gen.1:26-27).
Satan says "You're a sinner", but the Word says "You are redeemed"(Romans3:23-25). Satan is referred to as "the accuser of the brethren"(Rev.12:10) and the devil is the only one who would tell a person that they are still a sinner. Jesus became sin for us that we might be made the righteousness of God in him!(2Corinth.5:20-21).
The devil says "You aren't worthy", but the Word says that God loved us so much that he gave his only begotten Son(John3:16). We were bought with a price! (1Corinth.7:23-24). Of course, we are not worthy of ourselves, but by Christ who lives in us.
The list of lies from the devil goes on and on and just as Jesus did in the wilderness; we are to also to do combat with the devil by the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God. Put on the whole armor of God so that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil(Ephesians6:11-17).
Let us see ourselves as God sees us- in Christ.
