Is there a problem in going out tonight with “the friends”?

Many boys and girls can ask: “what kind of evil it can be to go out, just like Dinah (Gen 34:1-4), and have certain friendships?

Well, see the case of Dinah: she went out only to see the women of the land. This seems innocent. Nonetheless, she went toward a dangerous ground, a place where boys seek girls desiring sexual intercourse. They went there for that. When Dinah appeared there, the boys thought that she was there for this too. This gave occasion to Shechem to ravish Dinah.

If a girl goes to a place of diversion tonight in order to make “friends”, even if she has pure intention, boys there hasn’t. They go there to make out and they think that she went there to the same thing. Even if the girl resists to the enticements, the simple fact of a boy has occasion to enchant her, it means she had already gone too far and the order is:

• 1Co 10:12 -> “ Therefore let anyone who thinks that he stands take heed lest he fall.”.

Boys and girls ought to be *awesome* to the world, and not *attractive* to the world.

This means that we shouldn’t give occasion to the sin (Gal 5:13), that is to say, place to the devil (Eph 4:27) gain control of our lives. We must take a clear stand against sin.

There is in the Bride of the Lamb beauty and loveliness that attracts those who want to join her and at the same time a deterrent power and strength for those who want to do her harm. It looks that many believers have lost both aspects. Because we have lost our holy and pure character, people of the world are no longer afraid of us. Because we lose our beautiful character in Jesus, we are no longer attractive to the people of Christ.
