I was given this a few years ago by a friend, wrote it out on a bookmark & keep it in my Bible...I find it a useful place to start when dealing with a dilemma, a decision...the answer is not always what I want to hear! but it is always clear!
Decision Making : Daniel 1:8.
1.Is it Profitable or useful?
1 Cor. 6:12 All things are lawful unto me, but all things are not expedient.
2. Will it lead to freedom or Slavery?
1 Cor. 6:12 '...I will not be brought under the power of any.'
3. Will it Harm God's Temple?
1 Cor. 6:19. 'What? Know ye not that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit you is in you.'
4. Will it make me a Stumbling Block?
1 Cor. 8:9. 'But take heed lest by any means this liberty of yours become a stumbling block to them that are weak.'
5. Will it Build me up or Tear me Down?
1 Cor. 10:23. 'All things are lawful for me...but all things edify not.'
6. Will This Glorify God or Simply Please me?
1 Cor. 10:31. 'Whether , therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatever ye do, do all to the glory of God'.
7. Will it have the Appearance of evil?
1 Thess. 5:22. 'Abstain from all appearance of evil'.
8. Will it Slow me Down Spiritually?
Heb. 12:1'...Let us lay aside every weight...and let us run with patience the race.'
9. Will it Cause me to be Tempted?
11 Tim. 2-22. 'Flee youthful lusts, but follow righteousness, faith, love, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.'
10. Will it Conform me to the World or Transform me to God's Will?
Rom.12:1-2. 'Present your bodies a living sacrifice...be not conformed but be transformed.'
11. Will it Help me be a Witness for Christ?
11 Cor. 20. 'Now, then, we are ambassadors for Christ.'
12. Can I do it in the Name of the Lord?
Col.3:17. 'And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus.'
13. Would Jesus Do It?
1 Pet. 2:21. '...because christ also suffered for us an an example, that ye should follow His steps.'
14. Can I do it and be an Example of a Believer?
1 Tim. 4:12. 'let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.
