Homeless people posing as Christians to scam people for money in Sydney.

There's so many doing it nearly on every corner.

Today I walked past a gentleman that everyday sits on a corner of a main street in a major capital city of Sydney.
Every day he calls out to the crowds and says he needs money in order to get a job. He has 2 Bibles next to him visible so all can see.
Today I went up to him and asked him if he knew what John 3:16 says.

It’s a very popular Bible verse and most Christians would know what it says especially the ones that openly have Bible sitting in front to them.

It says “for God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”

I already knew he wasn’t a genuine Christian by his fruit because the Bible says you will know them by their fruit.
But I asked him what it said and he didn’t cheerfully want to know. Instead he smirked and asked me what it said.
When I looked into his face it was written all over it he had no idea.

That led to the conclusion he was just saying ‘God bless’ and showing the Bible to milk Christians or religious people for money.
That means that the Bible can be used to link to people’s consciousness to extract money for peoples private purposes.
I asked him if he was a Christian and he said ‘sure’ but I knew he was lying because he didn’t want to talk about it.

The reality is if this is happening on the homeless scale where many are lying to extract money for drugs, alcohol and whatever other purposes they have, what’s happening at the other end of the scale.

We have Churches and pastors taking people’s money who are much more skilled at getting it. How many are genuine who is to know?
God’s Word was never intended to be a money making machine for peoples purposes. From the least to the greatest its purposes were to lead people to God and eternal life.

I remember the days where I treated God’s Word with contempt and as some common thing to be trampled on until I grew up and allowed it to transform my heart and mind. I still am not perfect but I’m committed to allowing his council to change my life.
In Psalm 119:64 David says:

“I will praise you seven times a day because all your regulations are just”. NLT
“Seven times a day I praise you for your righteous laws”. NIV

This is a man who meditated on God's laws and ways throughout the day with great praise in his heart.
It certainly makes me consider about how I praise God for his Word the Bible!

Whether your poor or rich you can trampled God's Word as though it is just a tool for gain or you can allow it to transform your life and those you impact by it.

Whether you ignore it or use it for other means is all the same. God doesn’t get the glory if we approach God’s Word with self in mind.
God wants to keep us from evil and to be blessed however it we only pick and choose how we approach it for selfish gain or unbelief than we have gone astray and wandered away from the shepherd of our souls.

David goes on to finish Psalm 119:175:176 by saying:

"Let me live so I can praise you,
and may your regulations help me.
I have wandered away like a lost sheep;
come and find me,
for I have not forgotten your commands."
