God speaks to us through his Word the Bible.

The New Testament and the letters from the Apostles warn us continually to obey what the Apostles teach us, so we can become more like Jesus Christ by their revelations.

Many people can walk away from destructive sins that harm them however by not acknowledging Jesus Christ as lord and saviour.
Some people that do know the lord struggle with the same sins that they struggle to remove from their lives.

However in the long run the Christian that doesn’t give up will be better off than the non-Christian that seems to have broken the destructive bind of whatever it was they were enslaved to.

The non-Christian gets to live a peaceful life here on earth without the destruction of the pacific sin and the Christian that doesn’t give up eventually gets that and much more in this life and the next.

I don’t mean more worldly things but more understanding and knowledge of Jesus and his kingdom on earth and how to prepare people for eternal life through relationships and love.

Today I caught up with a person that has heard of God and knows the Bible to a degree, but struggles to really obey the teaching from the apostles.

That lead to alcoholism and many destructive things associated to it. They shared with me they needed to go to rehab.
That’s a good step to move away from destructive things and they might even meet other Christians in there. However rehab I believe is the first step to being empowered not to continue to live in sin.

The best way is the read the Bible and do what it says to do.

Not all doctors will point you to Jesus and eternal life but The Holy Spirit does through his word.

Eventually we have to pick it up and obey! Rehab or no rehab:)
God uses all things to draw people to himself.

Below is the 12 steps used in recovery programs for Christians and Non Christians.

1. We admitted we were powerless over alcohol—that our lives had become unmanageable.
2. Came to believe that a Power greater than ourselves could restore us to sanity.
3. Made a decision to turn our will and our lives over to the care of God as we understood Him.
4. Made a searching and fearless moral inventory of ourselves.
5. Admitted to God, to ourselves, and to another human being the exact nature of our wrongs.
6. Were entirely ready to have God remove all these defects of character.
7. Humbly asked Him to remove our shortcomings.
8. Made a list of all persons we had harmed, and became willing to make amends to them all.
9. Made direct amends to such people wherever possible, except when to do so would injure them or others.
10. Continued to take personal inventory and when we were wrong promptly admitted it.
11. Sought through prayer and meditation to improve our conscious contact with God as we understood Him, praying only for knowledge of His will for us and the power to carry that out.
12. Having had a spiritual awakening as the result of these steps, we tried to carry this message to alcoholics and to practice these principles in all our affairs.
