eek and you will find...for the one who seeks finds...
Matthew 7:7, 8 (NIV)

It's amazing what a person will find if he only takes the time to look for it. Sometimes, you find more than what you need. Case in point, I was looking for a pair of cargo shorts to wear one day, and I ended up finding an old pair of jeans that I hadn't worn in over five years. Needless to say, the jeans smelled like they had been in a sewage disposal plant, but I did find the desired pair of cargo shorts (they also needed to be cleaned as well, but not as much).

Jesus tells us in Matthew 7 that if we seek, we will find. But, what should we seek? First, we should seek Him daily. The psalmist in Psalm 119:10 (NKJV) says, "With my whole heart I have sought You." We must seek the Lord with all of our heart in order to find the blessings He gives. We must also seek righteousness. Seeking righteousness involves desiring to think the right thing, say the right thing, and do the right thing. It is when we seek righteousness that we find rewards for conducting ourselves in a manner that becomes the Gospel of Jesus Christ (see Philippians 1:27). Another "seek pursuit" involves seeking to others to bless with God's love, joy, and peace. When we share God's love with people, we open their hearts to the wonderful Gospel that has the power to save their souls. The "find" is a saved soul, a fellow Christian who feels better about him/herself, or just a good feeling in our hearts knowing that we have done something to bless someone else.

My prayer for you today is to seek Jesus with all of your heart, seek righteousness, and seek others to bless. Believe me, the blessings and rewards are innumerable (too many to count).
