On Sunday we took a family road trip..
We stopped in Astoria, Oregon and went for a small walk along the coast, there was a dock where fishermen were cleaning the fish they had just caught and the ground was littered with random things..
Anyway, my brother handed me a Tshirt shelve he found and I was grossed out and took it.. Not sure why I did (I thought it was pretty nasty..) till tonight. God reminded me of it, and gave me a picture of it..

"Isaiah 64:6
New International Version (NIV)
6 All of us have become like one who is unclean,
and all our righteous acts are like filthy rags;
we all shrivel up like a leaf,
and like the wind our sins sweep us away."

I feel like lately I've seen myself as that rag..
That nasty scrap no one even wants to touch.

Tonight, as I was laying here in bed I saw God pick it up just as disgusted as I was. But He didn't drop it..
No, He washed it off in His blood & it was white again.
But it was still just a piece of rag.. Useless..
Then I saw Him take it and start to sew it onto a big blanket of other small pieces of scrap like a quilt..
It had so many colors and shapes and patterns yet some how He made every piece fit perfectly..

Then, I saw him walk a little ways down this dark quite street where I saw myself homeless and cold sleeping on the pavement and I felt Him cover me with it..

What a beautiful picture of Gods redeeming love, family, comfort, provision & wholeness.

Thank you Jesus that you picked me up out of the dust and filth and made me into something beautiful!
You are so good!!
