Peace be with you all and it is sad to see we are acting more like goats, horn to horn against one another in order to practice zeal dominion over another rather than humble and humility practicing lambs and sheep of the New Covenant, totally depend on the Good Shepherd's voice, by the Help of the HOLY SPIRIT, inspirer of that written Covenant. This and many others written in the Holy Scripture we ignore and continue only to further grief the HOLY SPIRIT.
So please, if we have ears, 'listen' and 'pay attention' to the voice of the LORD our Good Shepherd, brought to our rememberence today by the HELPER, the HOLY SPIRIT, in order to justify about orderly truth worship of true worshipers, who worship GOD in spirit and truth.

The answer to whether we 'sit' or 'stand' when we pray is written in Matthew ch. 6; verse 5, and it goes like this as we eat them step by step;
1. When the disciples noticed JESUS, when HE prayed, they wanted to do the same and asked JESUS to teach them. So JESUS imparted the New Covenant spirit and life Words, which consist of commandment and instructions in them.
2. And JESUS's Words of spirit and life to them begins like this, even same today to all witnessing believers for the Kingdom of GOD, gathered as the church;
a) "When you pray, 'do not be like the hypocrites,'" (notice a commandment given to those who have faith and believe in HIM as their MESSIAH in order to 'excel them in righteousness, righteousness better than of the Pharisees's' in faith and action conducts?)
b) "Who love to stand up in the meeting places," (in weakness and ignorance most of the Pharisees do them, the standing 'posture' in order to show others and their devotion to please GOD but JESUS the MESSIAH who came to straighten the hypocritical blindness, teaches HIS new born again people 'not to do what they do'. JESUS mentioned this specifically to HIS disciples who gave up everything and followed HIM whole heartedly and it goes like this; "Learn from them but 'do not' do what they do.")
c) "And every street corner and pray."
After this commandment, JESUS then imparts in them 'instructions of spirit and life' in order to excel in praying righteousness methods, further to grow to become the New Covenant builder and continue to raise up more people for the Kingdom of GOD, live as 'one' orderly united people (church) and witnessing to others in words and action conducts the same.
Please for now ponder carefully at the LORD's commandment only disallowing 'show off's' standing posture. HE is our only justifier because HE reign as the 'author' of the New Covenant and the 'finisher' of our excelled righteousness faith. HE calls all who love HIM, to 'abide' in all of them which imparts true spirit and life.
This is an example of the HELPER's revelation, help in Teaching the hidden truth which is hidden to the very naked eyes of carnality. Please take note at all the replies towards this tread of the LORD. Are their explanation very close to the revelation and explanation of the HOLY SPIRIT? Also take note of their responding attitude also against one another?
Now again, this is the HOLY SPIRIT who we grief in such practicing manner, who is still faithful and concern reminds us that;
'Are we behaving like lambs and sheep or like goats?'
'Be encouraged beloved ones of CHRIST', since you still belong to HIM according to the New Covenant of GOD and as it is written; 'HE corrects the ones HE loves'.
Further more the HOLY SPIRIT wants to illuminate something from the given instructions on rewarding secret prayers.
