...I am overwhelmed by how much is actually in God's Word. Do you know what I mean? I feel so inadequate in my study and rather than think, "Ah, too much to do...I'll just skip it" I'm thinking, "God, grant me the wisdom, clarity and revelation of Your amazingly rich Word so that I may glean from the fields of plenty that are spread out generously before me, while it is still called today."

There was a time when I was so submerged in His Word that I couldn't bear the thought of not studying. I have begun to study again of late, granted it has been in the form of courses and the like. After today, after knowing what I've missed out on, after seeing that the answers are truly there for those that look, that the treasure lies open and available for one that would seek, I think, "How could I have forgotten the true wonder of His amazing Word?" I feel like I once did, that His Word is a feast spread out before me, waiting for whatever time of day I care to come and dine. It isn't like the continental breakfasts in hotels, only available during certain hours of the day, but rather it is there, constantly, for me to dive right in and gorge on it!
God’s Word is better than a diamond,
better than a diamond set between emeralds.
You’ll like it better than strawberries in spring,
better than red, ripe strawberries.

There’s more: God’s Word warns us of danger
and directs us to hidden treasure.
Otherwise how will we find our way?
Or know when we play the fool?
Clean the slate, God, so we can start the day fresh!
Keep me from stupid sins,
from thinking I can take over your work;
Then I can start this day sun-washed,
scrubbed clean of the grime of sin.
These are the words in my mouth;
these are what I chew on and pray.
Accept them when I place them
on the morning altar,
O God, my Altar-Rock,
God, Priest-of-My-Altar.

In Jesus name Amen!

I really enjoyed reading your blog, it is so true the abundance that awaits everyone right in His Word. Really there is always more to His word every time you read, just so much to glean in just one verse alone. I don't always get to study the way I wish I could but as long as I can take time each day and read at least one verse I know I will only gain from that small tidbit. So I thank you for sharing your thoughts and yes "I do know what you mean" ;)

Take Care and God Bless!
