The secret things belong unto Jehovah our God; but the things that are revealed belong unto us and to our children for ever, that we may live by every word from God
Jeremiah 11:1 This is the word that came to Jeremiah from the Lord: 2 “Listen to the terms of this covenant and tell them to the people of Judah and to those who live in Jerusalem. 3 Tell them that this is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says: ‘Cursed is the one who does not obey the terms of this covenant— 4 the terms I commanded your ancestors when I brought them out of Egypt, out of the iron-smelting furnace.’ I said, ‘Obey me and do everything I command you, and you will be my people, and I will be your God. 5 Then I will fulfill the oath I swore to your ancestors, to give them a land flowing with milk and honey’—the land you possess today.”
I answered, “Amen, Lord.”
So let's look again at this covenant in Deuteronomy 29. The previous chapter talked about a pagan practice of bringing an evergreen tree into the house and decking it with silver and gold for the winter solstice to celebrate the birth of some Babylonian God on December 25th. Following this we are told that Israel broke this covenant in Deuteronomy 29.
Deuteronomy 29:1 These are the words of the covenant which Jehovah commanded Moses to make with the children of Israel in the land of Moab, besides the covenant which he made with them in Horeb.
This covenant is not the one made in Horeb.
2 And Moses called unto all Israel, and said unto them, Ye have seen all that Jehovah did before your eyes in the land of Egypt unto Pharaoh, and unto all his servants, and unto all his land; 3 the great trials which thine eyes saw, the signs, and those great wonders: 4 but Jehovah hath not given you a heart to know, and eyes to see, and ears to hear, unto this day. 5 And I have led you forty years in the wilderness: your clothes are not waxed old upon you, and thy shoe is not waxed old upon thy foot. 6 Ye have not eaten bread, neither have ye drunk wine or strong drink; that ye may know that I am Jehovah your God. 7 And when ye came unto this place, Sihon the king of Heshbon, and Og the king of Bashan, came out against us unto battle, and we smote them: 8 and we took their land, and gave it for an inheritance unto the Reubenites, and to the Gadites, and to the half-tribe of the Manassites. 9 Keep therefore the words of this covenant, and do them, that ye may prosper in all that ye do.
If you make a covenant with someone you want to know that they can fulfill their end of the bargain. Today we call this a "credit check". So the "credit check" in this covenant is all the things we saw the Lord do to Pharaoh, and his army. For us this would be the gospels, the crucifixion and resurrection, and everything we saw during the age of the apostles. Also, all the various trials we saw in the wilderness, again for us that is the church age, and all of church history. Even after 2,000 years the glory of being clothed with Christ has not waxed old. We were sanctified, separated from the world so that we might not be befuddled by the wine of their fornication. We have defeated some giants, America was set up as a light on a hill, the New Jerusalem, defeating the superpower of the day. We have defeated both Britain at the time of our independence and Germany during WWI and WWII.
10 Ye stand this day all of you before Jehovah your God; your heads, your tribes, your elders, and your officers, even all the men of Israel, 11 your little ones, your wives, and thy sojourner that is in the midst of thy camps, from the hewer of thy wood unto the drawer of thy water; 12 that thou mayest enter into the covenant of Jehovah thy God, and into his oath, which Jehovah thy God maketh with thee this day; 13 that he may establish thee this day unto himself for a people, and that he may be unto thee a God, as he spake unto thee, and as he sware unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob.
Here we are, this day, in the vestibule of the millennial kingdom. We are about to enter and God is giving us a new covenant.
14 Neither with you only do I make this covenant and this oath, 15 but with him that standeth here with us this day before Jehovah our God, and also with him that is not here with us this day
This covenant is not simply with those at the time of Moses but applies today to us as well.
16 (for ye know how we dwelt in the land of Egypt, and how we came through the midst of the nations through which ye passed; 17 and ye have seen their abominations, and their idols, wood and stone, silver and gold, which were among them); 18 lest there should be among you man, or woman, or family, or tribe, whose heart turneth away this day from Jehovah our God, to go to serve the gods of those nations; lest there should be among you a root that beareth gall and wormwood; 19 and it come to pass, when he heareth the words of this curse, that he bless himself in his heart, saying, I shall have peace, though I walk in the stubbornness of my heart, to destroy the moist with the dry. 20 Jehovah will not pardon him, but then the anger of Jehovah and his jealousy will smoke against that man, and all the curse that is written in this book shall lie upon him, and Jehovah will blot out his name from under heaven. 21 And Jehovah will set him apart unto evil out of all the tribes of Israel, according to all the curses of the covenant that is written in this book of the law.
For the last two thousand years we have seen the world and all their idols whether we are talking about money, or some sport team or rock star, or movie star. We have seen that there those whose heart has turned away from the Lord as church attendance has dwindled. The attitude towards the Bible and Jesus has turned to gall and wormwood among the Hollywood elite. We have seen the stubbornness of men's hearts when we discuss idolatry. They embrace all their idols, the movies, the TV shows, their sports teams, and they have substituted the gospel for the "prosperity gospel". A "gospel" that says you can proclaim that you are blessed by God based on all the earthly possessions you have. It is a materialistic world that they have turned from God to, a world that worships the created things rather than the creator. A world that is cursed, it is unsustainable, it is on a train track that leads to destruction.
22 And the generation to come, your children that shall rise up after you, and the foreigner that shall come from a far land, shall say, when they see the plagues of that land, and the sicknesses wherewith Jehovah hath made it sick; 23 and that the whole land thereof is brimstone, and salt, and a burning, that it is not sown, nor beareth, nor any grass groweth therein, like the overthrow of Sodom and Gomorrah, Admah and Zeboiim, which Jehovah overthrew in his anger, and in his wrath: 24 even all the nations shall say, Wherefore hath Jehovah done thus unto this land? what meaneth the heat of this great anger?
Egypt used to be the great empire, then it was Babylon (Iraq), then Medo Persia (think Afghanistan and Iran) and then Greece. Look at these places now, they are brimstone, salt and burning. This is what the elites do when they rule a nation, they turn it into a wasteland. How many times do you have to see it to learn this lesson. This is what they will do to the US.
25 Then men shall say, Because they forsook the covenant of Jehovah, the God of their fathers, which he made with them when he brought them forth out of the land of Egypt, 26 and went and served other gods, and worshipped them, gods that they knew not, and that he had not given unto them: 27 therefore the anger of Jehovah was kindled against this land, to bring upon it all the curse that is written in this book; 28 and Jehovah rooted them out of their land in anger, and in wrath, and in great indignation, and cast them into another land, as at this day. 29 The secret things belong unto Jehovah our God; but the things that are revealed belong unto us and to our children for ever, that we may do all the words of this law.
Can anyone deny that the US was set up to be a city on a hill, the New Jerusalem based on the Mayflower compact? Yet today the US has forsaken that covenant that our fathers made, they serve other gods, they worship them, and these are gods that we did not know from the Bible and were not given to us in the NT. This is simply a fact. A Christmas tree is simply the ribbon that wraps up this nation of idol worship with a pretty little bow. We did not learn this from the Bible, it wasn't given to us by God, rather we have turned to the ways of the nations, it is a pagan practice, it has its roots in pagan worship and the universality of it demonstrates how widespread the idolatry has become in this nation.

Jeremiah 11:6 And Jehovah said unto me, Proclaim all these words in the cities of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem, saying, Hear ye the words of this covenant, and do them. 7 For I earnestly protested unto your fathers in the day that I brought them up out of the land of Egypt, even unto this day, rising early and protesting, saying, Obey my voice. 8 Yet they obeyed not, nor inclined their ear, but walked every one in the stubbornness of their evil heart: therefore I brought upon them all the words of this covenant, which I commanded them to do, but they did them not.
Yes we covered this in post 3163. The US has forsaken the covenant with God and rejected it.
9 And Jehovah said unto me, A conspiracy is found among the men of Judah, and among the inhabitants of Jerusalem. 10 They are turned back to the iniquities of their forefathers, who refused to hear my words; and they are gone after other gods to serve them: the house of Israel and the house of Judah have broken my covenant which I made with their fathers.
We need to see this. To survive in this world in any field you will find that you must either worship the Lord and walk by faith or else you will fall to worshipping the gods of the nations. There is no way around it. Do you want to be a successful, high priced lawyer? They will make you work 80 hours a week before you can become a partner. You will have no other life. It is actually worse than this because you will fly around the country, stay in hotels, and basically be on call 24 hours a day. How about a doctor? Same thing. What about a researcher in a lab? Well then you will be beholden to those who give grants for research like Fauci. The evil overlords will pull the strings. The NFL will fund studies to hide the fact that CTE is killing the players. Cigarette companies will fund studies to throw doubt on the harm of cigarettes. One by one people will "make a pact with the devil" that in exchange for their nice house and big salary they will do what they are told. Many will say "O I would never do that, i would draw the line at murder or stealing or lying". Really, the Lord said that he that is faithful in the least is faithful in much. If you consider a Christmas tree to be "the least" look at the offense it raises to point out that this comes from idol worship.
11 Therefore thus saith Jehovah, Behold, I will bring evil upon them, which they shall not be able to escape; and they shall cry unto me, but I will not hearken unto them. 12 Then shall the cities of Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem go and cry unto the gods unto which they offer incense: but they will not save them at all in the time of their trouble. 13 For according to the number of thy cities are thy gods, O Judah; and according to the number of the streets of Jerusalem have ye set up altars to the shameful thing, even altars to burn incense unto Baal.
Think of that, the number of gods equals the number of cities. They worship their teams. Buying season tickets is to "burn incense to them". Going to a "sports bar" or restaurant filled with the paraphernalia is an altar to the shameful thing. On every street what do you see? Altars set up to this Christmas tree, Santa, some Sports team or some other idol that people are worshipping.
14 Therefore pray not thou for this people, neither lift up cry nor prayer for them; for I will not hear them in the time that they cry unto me because of their trouble.
I am tired of people telling others to pray for this or that. We pray "thy will be done". Are you asking others to pray according to God's will or according to your own opinion?
15 What hath my beloved to do in my house, seeing she hath wrought lewdness with many, and the holy flesh is passed from thee? when thou doest evil, then thou rejoicest. 16 Jehovah called thy name, A green olive-tree, fair with goodly fruit: with the noise of a great tumult he hath kindled fire upon it, and the branches of it are broken. 17 For Jehovah of hosts, who planted thee, hath pronounced evil against thee, because of the evil of the house of Israel and of the house of Judah, which they have wrought for themselves in provoking me to anger by offering incense unto Baal.
Paul was very clear, we cannot partake of the tables of idols and the Lord's table. It is abundantly obvious that Christianity today does exactly that, they offer incense unto Baal. Whether it is with the "prosperity gospel", or with the compromise with so many other things of the world.
18 And Jehovah gave me knowledge of it, and I knew it: then thou showedst me their doings. 19 But I was like a gentle lamb that is led to the slaughter; and I knew not that they had devised devices against me, saying, Let us destroy the tree with the fruit thereof, and let us cut him off from the land of the living, that his name may be no more remembered.
This is very reminiscent of the story of Jesus' birth. He was a lamb that was wrapped in swaddling clothes, indicating He was being prepared for the slaughter. At the time of His birth they did devise evil against Him and sent and killed 2,000 little kids.
20 But, O Jehovah of hosts, who judgest righteously, who triest the heart and the mind, I shall see thy vengeance on them; for unto thee have I revealed my cause. 21 Therefore thus saith Jehovah concerning the men of Anathoth, that seek thy life, saying, Thou shalt not prophesy in the name of Jehovah, that thou die not by our hand; 22 therefore thus saith Jehovah of hosts, Behold, I will punish them: the young men shall die by the sword; their sons and their daughters shall die by famine; 23 and there shall be no remnant unto them: for I will bring evil upon the men of Anathoth, even the year of their visitation.

Isaiah talks of the rapture in the context of the birth of a savior
Isaiah 26:16 Lord, they came to you in their distress;
when you disciplined them,
they could barely whisper a prayer.
17 As a pregnant woman about to give birth
writhes and cries out in her pain,
so were we in your presence, Lord.
18 We were with child, we writhed in labor,
but we gave birth to wind.
We have not brought salvation to the earth,
and the people of the world have not come to life.
Consider the contrast here between man trying to save himself by his own works with the birth of the savior. The last days are compared to a woman in labor having birth pains and bringing forth a man child who is to rule all nations. These days were days to worship the Lord, get together with your family and the church, to worship the Lord and to have rest. Instead we have exchanged them for affliction, harsh labor and exile. This is because we dwell among the nations. They despise Thanksgiving and July 4th, Christmas has become Xmas and Easter is all about painted eggs and chocolate rabbits rather than the Lord’s birth and resurrection.
4 The roads to Zion mourn, for no one comes to her appointed festivals. All her gateways are desolate, her priests groan, her young women grieve, and she is in bitter anguish.

The Lord said that this road will lead to the taking away of your lampstand. Lamentations is a description of that lampstand being taken away. It begins with taking away the appointed festivals. They replace the story of Jesus birth with the story of a “red nosed reindeer”, they mock the Bible’s description of a rapture with a jolly fat man in a red suit whose name, Santa, is simply a modified form of Satan. The holiday is no longer about a savior being given to us but rather of how it is all about buying trinkets and toys. Believing in Jesus is replaced with believing in Santa. 7 In the days of her affliction and wandering Jerusalem remembers all the treasures that were hers in days of old. When her people fell into enemy hands, there was no one to help her. Her enemies looked at her and laughed at her destruction.
There is a great picture here, “no one to help her”. We were commanded to take one day a week as a day of rest to come and worship before the Lord. If we had done that we would have had a strong community. Everyone would know everyone, when trouble comes we would not be alone but rather there would be the church as one new man that could stand together against the stratagems of the evil one. But you traded that away for a job that paid more. However, when you got that job that paid more you needed to get the nicer house in the nicer neighborhood with the nicer school and higher taxes and all that goes with it. So you were still on the hamster wheel chasing that carrot just in front of your face. Meanwhile you were building the treasure cities for Egypt, which is what makes this so funny.

That is right, all who honored her despise her. It is one thing to be despised, pretty much everyone listed in Hebrews 11 was despised, but to go from being honored to being despised that is a very big fall. Think about Moses, he chose to be despised rather than to have some temporary honor with the Egyptians. I have seen many believers take a different path, they don’t want to be associated with the “despised Christians”, the “deplorables”, no they want to still attend the country club, so they attend a church that gets rid of all that “Jesus freak” stuff. They go to a church that will not offend the nations. They sinned greatly in despising their brothers and sisters and they have become unclean. Many of these churches openly reject the fellowship of the Apostles and even the Lord’s words. We call that the “apostasy”, the “falling away”. Repentance means you remember from whence you have fallen and you return.
9 Her filthiness clung to her skirts; she did not consider her future. Her fall was astounding; there was none to comfort her. “Look, Lord, on my affliction, for the enemy has triumphed.”
Christians who are “pro abortion”? Some of these churches became involved in human trafficking and pedophile rings. The fall is truly astounding. The Pope’s Snake room is just one example of how astounding this fall is. The enemy has triumphed -- you have to see this was not some error by a few, it was the stratagem of the evil one. In the same way that Satan disguises himself as an angel of light they disguised themselves as pastors of megachurches and priests and bishops. So they object to certain teachings, they push for failing denominations to stop listening to the Bible, they teach that the Bible is allegorical and not meant to be taken literally. Again, in the story the Lord told there was a priest and a levite that saw this man and instead of comforting him they passed by on the other side. Hey, don’t worry about this. True, the Lord of all is like an enemy who will swallow you up, but this is the same Lord you have been mocking and ridiculing for years. So hey, no big deal. 6 He has laid waste his dwelling like a garden; he has destroyed his place of meeting. The Lord has made Zion forget her appointed festivals and her Sabbaths; in his fierce anger he has spurned both king and priest.
Like a garden? My dad used to have a really nice garden and as soon as the winter was over I had to go out and turn the soil. To lay waste like a garden is to completely turn over the soil and when you do that you get all the roots and rake them out. In the near future you will have only the distant memory of Thanksgiving or Christmas (you can get a photo of Norman Rockwell photos to help you remember what life used to be like).
7 The Lord has rejected his altar and abandoned his sanctuary. He has given the walls of her palaces into the hands of the enemy; they have raised a shout in the house of the Lord as on the day of an appointed festival.
We are seeing a hint of this now. But it is only a hint because you still have the firstfruits, you still have the church in Philadelphia. Once they are raptured you will see God reject His altar, abandon His sanctuary, and give the walls of her palaces into the hands of the enemy. I just heard a video of a woman who is on the PTSA for some state saying that parents who are against CRT are “anti children” and that they need to die. She may sound like a lunatic right now, but shortly that will be the shout you hear in the house of the Lord. In Canada some minister said “Burn it all down” at the sight of people burning down churches in Canada.
8 The Lord determined to tear down the wall around Daughter Zion. He stretched out a measuring line and did not withhold his hand from destroying. He made ramparts and walls lament; together they wasted away.
And why not. In one church they found a graveyard of hundreds of kids. The Catholic church has been involved in an incredibly extensive pedophile ring of priests. Many religious leaders have been implicated in child trafficking. The crimes are horrendous and God is going to tear it all down. But the day is coming when no one will want to come into the country. First no one wanted to come into these denominational churches, then that led to the apostasy to keep the church from dying, that in turn led to the law being no more and the prophets no longer find vision, and you can see the result, no one wants to live in this country. Not the greatest bed side manner. Can you imagine a doctor saying this? “Tell me Doctor, is it serious?” Your wound is as deep as the sea, who can heal you? But if you do hear this the answer is simple, when no one can possibly heal you then you need to pray to God.
14 The visions of your prophets were false and worthless; they did not expose your sin to ward off your captivity. The prophecies they gave you were false and misleading.
Don’t you love this? The prophets are supposed to be exposing sin to ward off captivity. If you commit sin you become a slave to sin. So let’s consider that.
