A young Christian father came to our home last night to talk about Jesus and our walks with Him. He attends a local church. I shared my heart about the need for fathers to be trained to lead their families spiritually and in seeking the Lord as a family. After 11 years of experience I can testify to both the challenges and rewards. But I did not grow up in a family where this occurred nor did Christianity emphasize this great need to me. We are to be a Kingdom of priests. A priest represents his people to God and God to His people. A king reigns by the authority over him and informs his people of what God says and what His will is. The father is to represent Jesus, the mother His true church and the children the fruit of the union between Christ and His people. Thus, it has been the ultimate target of Satan. We must lay aside religious baggage and the “Talmud” of our day and return to solely what God says and the patterns He set forth in His Word. You will receive religious persecution but receive abiding peace of far greater worth.
