Today I was reminded that you can lie to yourself for only so long. Eventually, you meet up with the truth face to face. It is in that moment that you choose to remain bound to the life of the lie or to dance in the life of freedom in the truth. It is then, when faced with truth, that one chooses to remain in rebellion or to fall down in repentance.

If you are not paying attention, those moments are quick and will pass by unmarked and leave you in the stagnant lie you've always held on to. But, if you are sensitive, you will see His face and hear His voice as He calls out, "Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. Come to Me, all you captives and slaves to sinful things and destructive lies, and I will set you free. Come to Me, for I have overcome this world and I offer you not merely life, not merely existence, but abundant life, eternal life, and peace that never fails."

I had one of those moments this morning and I chose repentance. How great is our God! He is mighty to save and mighty to deliver! How amazing is Jesus Christ! He is the Lion and the Lamb! Praise His name forever!

Hi Mystdancer, very nice post.

Matthew 4:1-11 - where as Jesus was tempted in the wilderness and yet did not sin, I need to repent daily from sin. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. The best thing to do when "faced with the truth" is to admit (confess) our sin and repent and move on. Looking at how Jesus resisted temptations gives me the right pattern to follow and helps me to "Face the truth." Its best to not take the bait (lying vanities) at all so that we don't lose our joy and keep on good terms with our Heavenly Father.

I would be interested to know more about your new Facebook Bible Study - I've been away from CC chat but would like to be more involve - I'm a married and retired Christian man living in Thailand.

Blessing's to you!
