Hi there, I can completely relate to your battle.

There are so many levels of thought process that create that thought in our minds, aren't there. Like you said, the media creates an image that real women cannot compete with, nor should we have to. Men seem to be programmed to add the extra pressure and judge us on our outward appearance. Some men say, "Oh, I'm visual, I was made that way." My answer to that is, "No God didn't make you visual, sin did." Would God create man to be shallow, cruel and judgemental on the woman he is supposed to love? The world and all its relationships were ruined in the Garden. As Christians, we have to constantly work on being better in our thoughts, attitudes and reactions to ourselves and other..

Trust me, I spent way too long in an abusive marriage and part of his problem was my weight. He seemed to think he could verbally, mentally and emotionally attack me because he was mad about it. So, not to be cynical, your thoughts are valid. There are men like that....Men who put all of our esteem in how we look and if we don't add up to what they expect, we are useless to them. But on the other hand, there are wonderful men who will treat us like queens and who will care more about our heart and relationship with the Lord than anything else. I'm just waiting again for mine :)

I hope you find some peace with your thoughts. The first and most important Man for us to be concerned about and pleasing to is the Lord. He wants you to see yourself as He does...on the inside. It's a battle every hour, isn't it?
God bless you sister,
We're in this together.
Karen :)
