When we are affronted, do we hope in Jesus’ mercy or in His vengeance?

• “From His dwelling place He looks on all the people of the earth. Together He forms their hearts; His understanding is to all their works. Behold, the eye of Jehovah is to those who fear Him, on those who hope in His mercy;” (Psa 33:14,15,18).

We need to believe steadily that the Creator is reigning now, as it is said in Revelation 4:2. When we pray, we do as if the Creator was someone limited (very busy and unaware of what is taking place) or nonchalant.

We pray unbelieving that, from His dwelling place He looks on all the people of the earth.

Understand: when the Creator formed all the hearts, He did is together, that is to say, such as a screenwriter does when we make a movie, soap opera, etc. He creates every character, with its personality, place of action, role to be fulfilled, etc. And all of this, always aiming at a happy end for the righteous.

The Creator put all His understanding in ALL (not only some) the works of each creature. Our problem and conflict is that we pine for the end that we consider correct, instead of abiding by what the Creator enjoined us:

• “ *Come now, and let us reason together*, says Jehovah; though your sins are as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall be like wool.” (Isa 1:18).

Let’s plead with the Creator as Job thought on doing (Job 23:3-5). Let’s take hold of His understanding and give in to it humbly. Instead of looking for changes (see Prov 24:21), find out Jesus’ alliance with you (Ps 25:14) and be faithful to it.

I know that, before the injustice, our propensity is to try to acquire as much resources as feasible so that we can overturn all mightiness of the enemy. Nevertheless:

• “The king is not saved by a great army; a mighty man is not delivered by much strength. A horse is a vain thing for safety; neither shall he deliver by his great strength.” (Psa 33:16,17).

We need to figure out that the work of the Creator is from eternity to eternity (1Chr 16:36; Ps 90:2; Dan 2:20). That is to say, all of our life is a little dot in this plan. This means that many of us won’t see the fruit of our works, such as many of the prophets and servants of the Creator who, although they obtained a good report through faith, they did not receive the promise (Heb 11:39).

As Jesus said to the apostles:

• “I sent you to reap that on which you bestowed no labor. Other men labored, and you have entered into their labor.” (Joh 4:38).

Although the apostles were reaping what others sowed spiritually, what matters is:

• “And he who reaps receives wages and gathers fruit to life eternal, so that both he who sows and he who reaps may rejoice together.” (Joh 4:36).

So, have a good weekend fearing the Creator and hoping in His mercy. Doing this, you will receive the eyes of the Creator, namely, the eyes that see, not what is apparent (see 1Sam 16:7; John 5:30; Ps 44:21; 1Cor 14:25), but what is hiding in the heart of the Bride of the Lamb and in the heaven for you. Remember that Jesus’ eyes are like flame of fire (Rev 1:14).
