Why Matthew 24:40-42 doesn't support a "Post-Tribulation" Rapture !!

Hello,

First I wish to pay respect to all our "post-trib" brothers ans sisters.
My point is not to critize, but to present exactly what the scripture says.

Matthew 24:40-42 says:

Vs40 - Then shall two be in the field: the one taken, and the other left.
vs41 - Two [women shall be] grinding at the mill; the one taken, and the
other left.
vs42 - Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.

The claim supporting port trib. Is that "the one in the field who is taken" and "the one grinding At the mill who is taken" are the people taken away by Christ via the "Rapture".

Only when you go back to Matt 24:37 and read the whole parable together
"Matt 24:37-42" in context, that the truth of this parable is revealed (KJV)

vs37 - But as the days of Noe [Noah] were, so shall the coming of the Son of man be.
vs38 - For as in the days that were before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day Noe entered the ark,
vs39 - And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
vs40 - Then shall two be in the field: the one taken, and the other left.
vs41 - Two [women shall be] grinding at the mill; the one taken, and the other left.
vs42 - Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.

As you can see, when you take the whole passage in context, the one's left behind in the Ark were the one's that were saved. And the one's taken were all killed by the flood

This is just the opposite of what happens at the Rapture. Those carried away are saved to be with Christ and those left behind must deal with the trib.

Your brother in Christ

Heh I enjoyed this blog post indeed. However I would say that I still hold that the post-Tribulation Rapture/First Resurrection is the most correct interpretation. My point to make would be these verses described the coming day of the LORD when Jesus will return in a day and hour no man knows. The Day of the Lord when He comes to Earth is after that period popularly named Tribulation Period in all prophecies and scripture.

Either way though cool blog post worthy of ponderance indeed!

Hello GodIsSalvation:
I agree with you that matthew 24:37-42 is a direct reference to our Lords glorious appearance at the end of the 7 year tribulation.

Thanks for your kind words
