Two little eyes to Look to God

2 little eyes to look to God
2 little ears to hear His word
2 little feet to walk in His way
2 little lips to sing His praise
2 little arms to do His will
1 little heart to love Him still

Jesus is my shepherd
Guess who I am
Such a lovely secret
I'm His little lamb

Gentle Jesus meek and mild
Look upon a little child
Pity my simplicity
Suffer me to come to Thee

Now I lay me down to sleep,
I pray the Lord my soul to keep,
If I die before I wake,
I pray the Lord, my soul to take.

Some children find this scary, but for me, this almst made me sleep really well because I knew if something happened to me, God would take care of me.

I thought that when you pray that it should come from your heart and not something that was thought up

Deuteronomy 6:7And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when you liest down, and when you risest up.

I could list so many verses on this, anyhow...Jesus taught everyone, and we're still taught. Oh don't forget the verse that says teach them the ways of the Lord, and they shall not depart from righteousness when they're older.

You should, but even Jesus told us a prayer we can use. Just becuse it's someone elses words, doesnt mean it doesn't describe what's on you heart. Children can use these types of prayers to learn and get in the habit of praying.

my son is 9 and he knows the Lords prayer, we say now i lay me down to sleep i pray the Lord my soul to keep angels watch me through the night and God takes me to his morning light thank you dear Lord for this day and thank you Lord that..... add in daily events or and special prayers for grandma this day cause shes sick.." We are also nearly done learning the 23 psalm (he's better than me at recall... sad but true, he's constantly correcting me) Suppose this is good cause he wants to be a pastor. I dont think theres anything wrong with them learning the scriptures young. Next I will teach him (& me) psalm 91 and then I'll find something in the new test to teach him after that. I get the boys to say grace at dinner, christian is always thoughtful to include our guests in his prayers and he always knows what they need prayer for... once again mom strutts about in pride at this wonderful child of God. (i sure didnt think to teach him that!)

i used to say this one as an adult because my adult life is so horrendous and abusive that i just wanted the Lord to take my life then

and sometimes i still do, because i'm tired and fed up with my stepdad and my mother destroying and stealing the annointing from the Lord that has been given to me

and i'm tired of my stepdad abusing me, sexually harrassing me, and my mom looking the other way
and i'm tired of old men in this community doing the same thing and getting away with it, all the while it drives me insane and crazy

i would love to have a husband or even a male friend who protects me from such evil minded males on this earth.

the only thing that would have solved this was to have my own house

for some reason they cannont coexist with another and keep to their own selves, they have to steal whatever GOD gives me and rule and control it

I dont know your situation asamanthinketh and know change is sometimes hard. Its ok to have wonderful positive Christ Loving people in your life and still honor your mother with occasional visits. Its also ok to visit your mom where stepdad is not. Pray for strength in Christ to be able to change your situation on your own and not become dependant on some man who may fail you in this. You want a man to save you... pray for him. perhaps the Lord will send him, or perhaps the Lord will require you to make a plan and do the plan and not let another year of abuse pass.

My step mom prayed for a man to save her from her horrible life (her words not mine) she was making about 1.50 / day doing hair in the philipinnes, had a terrible little room with only a hot plate & slaved for her family on weekends. She prayed for a man to take her away from all that... she prayed God would bless her with a family to love her even though she's too old to have a family. its was a week or two after that she received my dads first letter. My dad who wouldnt even get on a plane to go for a 1 hr flight to vancouver... my dad who drove 4 days to vegas cause he's so afraid to fly flew the 13 hr flight to manila to meet her. & yes she has a family who loves her but its because she's the most beautiful amazing lady & we are so blessed to be in her presence. I have to break of the servant attitude in her though cause sometimes we'd be sitting to eat & she'd start dishes... i had to kick her butt outa my kitchen & to the table. Melania you are my honored guest, not my servant. I've learned so much from that beautiful soul. Anyway I suppose I'm rambling but my point to you is... yup God answers prayers... get specific!!!!

This one was the first one I remember as a child....

Now I lay me down to sleep,
I pray the Lord my soul to keep:
May God guard me through the night
And wake me with the morning light.
Amen.
