You can please all of the people some of the time and some of the people all of the time. But you will never please all of the people all of the time.
True.
Our aim is to be pleasing to God. All the time. God knows the heart.

Matthew 2:9-11

9 When they had heard the king, they departed; and, lo, the star, which they saw in the east, went before them, till it came and stood over where the young child was.
10 When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceeding great joy.
11 And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshipped him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto him gifts; gold, and frankincense and myrrh.

As per the point made already, if we celebrate any birthday, surely Jesus' birthday is the most important one to celebrate, and has the most biblical support? If we won't celebrate Jesus' birthday, surely we shouldn't celebrate any?

I think the charge of legalism comes in where one decrees that anyone who celebrates Christmas or supports it is supporting evil.

This exactly was the point I was intending to bring up next, but you did so with much more knowledge than me. To me, the heart of the attack on Christmas isn't that December 25th is the wrong date. If this was the case, and those against it celebrated on the 25th of April, or whenever date they believe Jesus really was born (or conceived - the important theological issue is the Incarnation - when God became Man), I wouldn't have a problem. My issue is that the purpose of this seems to be to eliminate the mention of Christmas in association with Christ. And then where to next? The Resurrection, of course, because of yet another long-dead, long-forgotten pagan. The core of the issue isn't about the dates being wrong, or the dates also coinciding with some long-dead pagans (and which dates don't, by the way?) The core of the issue is elimination of the Christian Holy Days, but this effort thus far has been unsuccessful from without the Church, so it is being attempted by sinister means - holy-sounding arguments and justifications to do so from within.
Nailed it! 😊
''...they went out from us because they were not one with us. ''
True. Even when they were still in Christ's presence they were never one with him.

@Papermonkey , why does “negativity” bother you? :p

When you have God with you and all the internal peace and joy, all the “negativity” is basically like a beautiful breeze in the face in a hot summer day.
Im usually like “oh that was nice”.

When you have God with you, you are like a still lake with no ripples.

I'm not a Buddhist.

If I were I'd recollect the Dali Lama leading a band of armed monks in a revolution against the Chinese army.

I'm a Christian.

I recall Jesus responding against the blasphemy of the money changers before his father's house.
His calling the Pharisee's and Sadducees vipers, and of their father the devil, when they brought him before the Sanhedrin in an illegally convened trial.

I respond to negativity because it needs be rebuked.

Still lakes are not a constant. Many things cause ripples.

Constantly still water becomes stagnant. And toxic. If this perpetuates, all living in that water die. And rot. And that makes things far worse. The pond is no longer serving the natural environment but is now toxifying the surrounds.
And if wild things know no better and drink of that toxic fluid, they sicken and die. And rot. Therein compounding the problem.

Jesus was a revolutionary. It's why the temple elders wanted him dead.

Nice picture though. 😊

I see that you are well-versed on a lot of areas. :)
‘Next question.
How do you know it’s “negativity”?
Also, what do you know about the stranger on the internet or the random person on the supermarket who bumped into your cart and swore at you?
Also, What do you know about Dude in specific to think that he’s “negative”? I for example know one thing about him which I don’t want to share here because it’s painful.

Yeah I think she put me on ignore. That's too bad because I actually liked her. But I was not intending to be negative at all. All I was saying is don't judge people because their reasons for celebrating or not celebrating holidays his entirely subjective

Interesting.
Remember it was you who first judged communications here as negativity.

Again, its a matter of what is being celebrated. Halloween celebrates witches and demons which is 100% different than celebrating the birth of Christ.

No. Halloween celebrates children having an opportunity to play dress up and pretend they are those characters they're costumed as.
I've worked retail. Not many witch costumes. Plenty of super hero outfits, mythological figures like unicorns .

I would never say children are celebrating witches and demons. They're celebrating a night of pretend and free candy.

While the ancient cultures of Europe celebrated Samhain.
It was a combination of the autumnal equinox, celebrating the harvest, and remembering their departed who are not there to share in the feast.
No Satan , no Demons.

Those characteristics were embossed upon the pagan, peasant class, country dwellers, people's deities when Catholic missionaries entered parts of Europe.

''The gods of the old religion become the devil's of the new.''

It's really a moot point now days. They have trunk or treat for kids. Favorite Bible characters, more safe, not an issue.

So, if God-fearing Christians .....irrefutable conclusion that Christmas' origins are pagan and/or demonic

Some of us just like to honor God.

Don't look now, but those are a lot of judgmental, legalistic comments right there. Jus' sayin'.

God did not inspire the origin of the celebration we now call Christmas or Christ Mass. Satan and demons did.
So satan inspired the celebration of Christ's birth. Can you tell me exactly what part of this celebrating is the "doctrine of demons"?

nobody is questioning the motives of the individual here who dug up all of these old threads.
We have people drag up this old horse every single season. Every single Christmas, Noel, Christ's birthday. And the same objections are brought up and ignored by the legalists. I agree, it's annoying.

How is it pagan to celebrate God Himself entering into the world so that He may save us from the wrath and judgement that we have brought upon us. To sing hymns that honour Him for doing so, to engage in charitable giving in his name, to gather around family and friends in our churches and worship him for coming and saving us?

To Christmas or not to Christmas, that is the question.

It's been my question since I came here. Apparently fake gods rule the earth and Jesus didn't redeem us from the fall at all. Apparently the pagans own everything and "paganed" up a day that they never really celebrated on. The did that to days of the week too, but we can't change that. But we get legalistic over a tree and twist Scriptures to make it an idol. Unreal. Every year.

Well I just took a close up look at your avatar and you my friend have Christmas trees in that picture. So, sir, you better splain yourself right quick. Before the legalists come after you with sticks!!
