I don't think so because we're supposed to refuse the mark of the beast when the rest of the world accepts it. Oh no, do you think a FB account might be the mark of the beast?!?
you're kidding right?

I believe you are right.
The question is, what should we as Christians do? Just go along with the flow?
I watched the youtube videos referenced above on this thread and was struck by how dated the "25 things I hate about facebook" one was. It actually reminded me of the "good old days" of facebook when people WERE allowed to interact with one another without constant complaint from the system whether or not their behaviours were annoying. To me the actual problems are so much more sinister I can't help but to think this video was made by facebook along the lines of old shows like "Beavis and Butthead" which had no interest in really trashing musicians but rather tried to make it the thing to do to watch MTV all day while making assinine comments.

As for the question of what should we as Christians do regarding the creation of a one world secular government which closely monitors every action of its citizens behaviour through instruments like facebook I have no answer. I notice that they have cleverly tied things up so any action you support somehow furthers their plans. You're not a "patriot" if you don't want to wipe out all of the mid east governments in their way, you're a "racist" if you don't allow mass immigration from non-christian countries. Yet when you think about it, these are all steps towards a single government.

persecuted, you're right. there are probably alot of new videos out now concerning facebook and privacy.
i had to chuckle about zero's "mark" comment, but in all seriousness we who are heavily involved in communicating via technology now are voluntarily giving our information without much second thought. this can definitely be used against us in the future; all we can do is use our networking opportunities to spread the Gospel of Jesus in whichever way we can. As long as our words give off salt and light then God can use us even over fb. It is all about how we conduct ourself. Isn't it... same goes for any other websites (such as this one).

I'm not addicted. I just check it once a day to see new posts. I don't play the games. I don't chat there very often.
it has mostly been positive, but recently some family members got into arguments on there, and i begged them to not make
their argument so public. but for the most part, it has been a good place to keep up with family on a more regular basis than just
holiday get togethers.

I use facebook and while I do have alot of ppl on it, I don't pay attention to it when I'm at home, I do some surfing on it while working tho on my phone.

Mostly I use facebook for promotion, for myself and others, cause I know about 900 ppl will see it

I do like facebook i must admit, but i do use it as a channel for expressing my faith in Jesus...through various ways..music, pictures, quotes. I share my thoughts, feelings and ideas with people on there and i also speak to family and keep in touch with friends. I do need to prioritise more though..

I get a high out of not using facebook for weeks on end. If it wasn't required for my work, I wouldn't use it.

There are times it became addictive and I literally put myself on a ban....LOL... However, it does not have such a strong hold these days..... I prefer solid covos about Kingdom businesst...

I also like truth....people of facebook tend to paint pictures of their lives that's not really true

Sigh ....nothing is real anymore

450 people later I only get on it to post pics and write goofy status updates
