I'm not sure if this is the right forum to ask the question. I've been lied to throughout my attempts to become a model. How do you deal with lies and does anyone know if there is a group or person I can chat with? Thank you for your response
I feel like modeling is one of those industries where you're going to find a lot of corruption, including lies. I've heard so many horror stories in the modeling world so be careful.
My 1st advice would be not to give money until after the service has been provided. I'm not sure that's possible in the modeling world, but you at least need receipts. I've had some bad experiences paying before and unfortunately it's adulting 101. I just assumed people owning a business would be honest. Nope... that's very naive as well. Been there, done that.
Trusting is quite difficult. The phrase "give them the benefit of the doubt." Terrible advice and I never tell my kids that. Instead neither judge nor assume they're a good person.
Simply let their behavior give you the answer. 1. Are they a Christian? You know by if they use God's name in vain, possibly their political views, if they talk about church, etc. 2. Are they fake? Their smile doesn't touch their eyes. Also eyes will be strange, dark, and unkind.
3. Are stories not matching up? This means they're lying. I went to the bar yesterday. Yet they said earlier they were busy everyday this week taking pictures of modeling. Could be... they went after work. But don't assume that's what they meant. If it happens like that or if they're just plain not making sense, they're lying. Could be they're lying to make themselves look better or could be they're shady. Either way stay away.
