why is birth control a sin? well what was God's first commandment in Genesis - "Be fruitful and multiply". there you go brothers and sisters out there. if you are married why use contraception. If you are using contraception (birth control) you are breaking the will of God (His commandment) and that is a sin.

think about it, why would God make a commandement like that. He obviously wants us Christians to raise Godly children.
Now dont believe in the over population myth, its a lie from the goverments - there are a few satanic reasons for this over population myth. but mostly as to the fact that satan wants us humans to disobey the will of God in every aspect possible. there is plenty of livable land out there and the so called global warming myth is actually just the sun increasing energy output. even then many dispute that the earths temperature is heating up.

do not fear finances or anything like that. Jesus reassures us that we must seek first the kingdom of God and everything else will be added. God will take care of your needs. That is if you are in His will. if you follow the will of God, He will look after you no matter what. believe me it works, God does provide for christian married couples who have many children.

Ultimately if you are married and dont want kids, there is something wrong. why would you deny what God intended you to do (reproduce). its a selfish thing to avoid children. if your holding off kids so you can have a career, more money, overseas holiday trips there is something wrong and you should think what God wants and what His plan is. im not saying every christian should have multiple children, but atleast the majority should try. heck, some should not have any at all, but this applies to a minority of Christians who are called to other things.

so dont be afraid, there are no excuses, and it is a sin to 'close the womb'( birth control). be free to have six, seven, ten, twelve or so kids. its such a blessing to raise Godly children into this world. God Bless

Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity.

Is that what he's doing? Setting an example in speech, life, love, faith and purity by making all these threads claiming nobody is a Christian but him?

We don't really need more threads with women explaining the wide variety of health problems that are solved by birth control. If the fact that it's called 'birth control' is causing problems, then call it hormone therapy or something. That's how many women use it.

But more to the rest of his post- you do not have the authority to make me feel bad for not having 14 children.

Yawn, second forum I've seen this thread in. You know you can post it asmany times as you like it doesn't make you any more wrong. Not to mention there are non-contraceptive ways to avoid pregnancy anyways, so your point is lacking if those aren't sins as well.

I don't see anywhere in this thread, he's claiming to be the only Christian. Even if he is not setting an example the verse still says " don't let anyone look down on you because you are young."

If the ladies are using birth control for medical reasons, that is fine. However, there are many ladies using birth control where they do not get pregnant and that is wrong. If you are going to have sex then take your chance of having a kid and if you don't want a kid, then don't have sex.
But more to the rest of his post- you do not have the authority to make me feel bad for not having 14 children.
He's not trying to make you feel bad; he's saying don't try not to have kids.
P.s. I know I used a double negative.

Yeah you're sixteen, so great advice for married couples, you know you're married now and supposed to be having sex but only if you want kinds? Get off it bro. God gave someone the knowledge of how to make condoms and pills for a reason. You think God wants people randomly popping out babies when they don't have the means to take care of them? Get reasonable. If sex was ONLY for procreation then it wouldn't be made to be so pleasurable.

Sorry, i aint buyin it. Ir would be better for a man and wife to use birth control than to continue to have chlildren that can not afford to support. The only other solution is for the man and wife to stop having sex, which would be ridiculous...your theory is not logical nor is it Biblical. To say that there is somethinh wrong with peple who do ot want children, i find that to be ridiculous as well. I dont see anywhere in the Bible where it says that God requires a man and wife to have children.

Why would you post this in two forums? ;)

Anyway, like I answered in the other one:

God also did not tell us to be irresponsible with our bodies.

If a family can afford 2 children, why end up having 5? So that instead of receiving quality education, food, clothing, etc., they will not, because their parents got reckless under the sheets?

If I can afford it, I hope to be blessed with as many wonderful children as God will provide.

We all should live within our means, which is also in the best interest of our children. If you can afford it, then have as many as 10 or more. If not, have some, and then take whatever measure to "halt production".

NOW, if birth control is used as a mean to avoid creating life altogether for the long-term, then I would agree with you.
But if one is to be so obtuse and ignorant to take the "be fruitful" out of context, and become irresponsible "baby factories", then you're not doing God nor your children a favor.

People do that. They just want to have sex. Like I said it would be ok for medical reasons, but not to avoid having kids. Thats not right.

Dude653, I know it don't. Does the Bible say to use medical things to avoid having kids? No, it says be fruitful. Even if they can't afford a baby its their fault they wanted to have sex.

Nautilus, kids can give marriage advice better then a married person. And I proved that a few times. So before you say anything about my age think. Teens can give as good advice as adults can.

Sorry, I still ain buyin it. This is just another example of pulling scriptures out of context to try to prove a point. This would imply that those who are not married are in sin because thay are not being fruitful and multiplying...sorry...your argument is not logical

I'm pretty sure when God said be fruitful and multiply he didn't mean to have more children than you can afford or to have too many children. ABout God giving you what you want if you seek his kingdom that according to his plan so you may not be financially set. Also using birth control is not a sin because some people are not ready for kids or simply do not want them. God's not upset because you don't want them. WE as humans are already fruitful and multiplying. NOt everyone is to have kids or to have them right away. Birth control is smart and lowers the amount of abortions.

I wonder if you've ever met someone who was diagnosed with a genetic disorder after getting married. Or met a couple who, through sudden revelations about their family history, realized that 25% of their kids would probably die young.

I know a young lady who was diagnosed with attenuated familial adenomatous polyposis in her late 20s, after marrying. 50% chance of passing it down to all her children, who will very likely die in their 30s or 40s, just like their mother probably will. She's not being selfish, but prudent.

well what was God's first commandment in Genesis - "Be fruitful and multiply". there you go brothers and sisters out there. if you are married why use contraception. If you are using contraception (birth control) you are breaking the will of God (His commandment) and that is a sin.
God also said:

Then God said, “I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food."
Have you ever passed by an apple tree without eating all its fruit? Why? You have the opportunity and God commanded it. If you are not taking every opportunity to eat all the food God has given us, you are breaking the will of God (His commandment) and that is a sin. Sarcastic etc., sarcastic etc.

Exactly, it is a mutli purpose act. Procreation being one of them, but at the same time, what about all those infertile couples? Are they not allowed to have sex because they aren't able to reproduce? Peopel need to get real.
