My ex boyfriend left me because god tests us sometimes so he wanted to show that he actually trusts god, if we both pray then god will fulfill it right?
It's nice to meet you rose. I'm sorry about your breakup. You just have to trust that God knows what He is doing. It can be bewildering for sure.
A few years after I met God, my husband of 14 years told me he wanted a divorce. He said he felt all alone and that it felt to him like I was having an affair after I met God. So he found a girlfriend online.
I prayed and prayed. I had others pray and pray. The prayer I prayed and asked others to pray was not that He would keep us together but that he would meet God.
All that praying didn't change it. He still hasn't met God over 6 years later. And we aren't together.
So you just have to trust God that He knows what He's doing and knows what's best for you both.
To you, getting back together is what would be best for you both. But you don't know that because you can't see 20 years down the road like God can.
God is extremely involved in every detail of your life and He guides your steps, as scripture states. Two questions then emerge. 1. Do we believe Him when He says He guides our steps?
2. If we really do believe He guides our steps and works everything to our good, why do we not accept our circumstances and instead try to pray them away or even complain to Him about them?
For example: If I have a flat tire, do I rant and rave and have my day ruined by being snappish and nasty and grumpy about my circumstance, or do I trust Him even though I can't see why He guided my steps this way? For all I know, He could have been saving me from an awful crash further down the road or...arranging for me to meet the tow truck driver or...preventing me from getting the job I was on my way to interview for because He had a different job in mind for me. There is no way I can know why. I just have to trust Him even though I can't see why. That's what faith is. It's trust. It's not complaining about my circumstances but just trusting Him that He always arranges His plans, not mine.
I fail often in this by complaining about my circumstances. But I'm getting better about trusting Him.
