In Acts 11, Agabus, we read that a prophet from Jerusalem stood up and prophesied a famine that was coming. The saints determined because of this to send relief to the poor saints in Jerusalem. It is interesting that the saints weighed the prophecy and their response was to give.
I went to a conference in the early 1990's where someone got a word of knowledge and pointed out a woman in the audience and said that she was in financial need. One of the pastors involved in organizing the conference said, "Well give her some money." Spontaneously, people started going forward and donating money to her. I heard through the grapevine that she had a really large bill and the offering paid for it.
Last Sunday, I was at church and one of the pastors said he saw a woman who had a bill in her purse she could not pay. He asked if she didn't mind, to stand. She did. He had others stand in a similar situation. The church took up an offering to help. I was glad to see the practical help, a lot better than just saying, "Be warmed and filled."
